[edit]

Thanks for declaring that you are in a conflict of interest with regard to subjects related to Grady-White Boats and also that you are being WP:PAID to create a page about the company. If you check those two policies you will read COI editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. It undermines public confidence and risks causing public embarrassment to the individuals and companies being promoted. Editors with a COI are sometimes unaware of whether or how much it has influenced their editing. If COI editing causes disruption, an administrator may opt to place blocks on the involved accounts. I would strongly recommend that you not try to create an article about this company as the process will probably not end as intended. See also WP:NOTPROMO. - Ahunt (talk) 19:06, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advice! Would it be possible for me to create an article for Grady-White Boats if I put it through the Articles for Creation process as described here? That linked section says those with a COI "should put new articles through the articles for creation process, so they can be reviewed prior to being published." Igoe-Matthew (talk) 20:55, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes that would probably be one way to do it and would reduce the chances of it being speedily deleted. - Ahunt (talk) 22:20, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I do plan to use this image in an upcoming draft I'll be submitting within a few days, so based on the reasonable exception info at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#F5, I removed the orphaned image notice (see File talk:Grady-White Boats logo.png#Uploaded for upcoming article). However, if that was the wrong thing for me to do, I apologize and will be happy to revert that change or delete the file! Igoe-Matthew (talk) 13:39, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your employer is paying you to learn how to edit Wikipedia. Your client is paying your employer to seek to credit an article, though why they want one is a weird ambition. They will neither own - WP:OWN nor be abke to control the content or the article, if they have sufficient notability to have one accepted here.
As a paid editor you are expected to know how to write neutral articles without being taught. Volunteer reviewers are most unlikely to teach you how to earn money from writing articles.
You also are required to be 100% au fait with WP:PAID 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:19, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
