License tagging for Image:DSC01064.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC01064.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:05, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Impasugong seal.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 12:37, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of info to Malaybalay City

[edit]

I noticed that you added a lot of information to Malaybalay City. The problem is, these additions appear to be copied from another website (like this one). This is copyright infringement and Wikipedia cannot be burdened with liability like that. What you can do is to rewrite or paraphrase the additions so that only the data is copied and not how that data was written. I hope you understand. Thanks! --seav (talk) 01:43, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't copy and paste

[edit]

Hello, please don't copy and paste text from other websites as you did to various articles related to Bukidnon. This is illegal. If you must, you have to rewrite the text into your own words. --seav (talk) 01:25, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anything could be added as long as it belongs to wiki. Contents you added do belong to wiki. However, as per mentioned above, don't copy and paste. What Seav wanted to say is not to rewrite it all but to do some "content twisting" as to avoid verbatim copying. Its bad to just copy directly. Happy editing! =) --βritandβeyonce (talkcontribs) 06:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ph bukidnon distict map.PNG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ph bukidnon distict map.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Speedy deletion of "1-2-3 (APO Hiking Society album)"

[edit]

A page you created, 1-2-3 (APO Hiking Society album), has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is very short and provides little or no context.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Cebuano Wikipedia

[edit]

Good day! I've found at your userpage that you are a Native speaking Cebuano, and I'm glad to find one here in the English Wikipedia. By the way, I'm Abastillas, but I'm not very active here in the English Wikipedia.

I would like to invite you to help edit articles in the Cebuano Wikipedia. It is very sad to think that, though running for almost three years already, the Cebuano Wikipedia community has only less than ten members, 30,000 articles (mostly stubs), and the recent changes page puffed up mostly by interwiki bots and less human editors.

I hope you can visit us there, and hopefully help us grow. Thank you! --Abastillas (talk) 12:17, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pasig River Drainage Basin

[edit]

Hi, I'd like to know where you got the source for the Pasig-Marikina River drainage basin. I've been looking for it online. :-) --seav (talk) 07:24, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Me, I'd like to know if you're interested in covering the tributaries of Laguna de Bay :-D Nice work you made with the Pasig there. -- Alternativity (talk) 15:58, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, as of now, my target are the major river basins in our country such as the Agusan River, Mindanao River, Agno River and Pampanga River, I already have base maps but I can't seem to find the time to finish them all. But in case I find an inspiration to do the Laguna de Bay tributaries, I'll post it on the article right away. Kleomarlo (talk) 08:37, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I think all the Major tributaries (or at least all those with LLDA monitoring programs) have articles now, and I was really hoping someone good at making geographical maps would come along and bless those articles with maps. Or better, more accurate ones in the rare case of ones with maps. Cheers! -- Alternativity (talk) 12:10, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Lira Luis, the page you suggested for deletion

[edit]

I can give you numerous references to the notability of architect Lira Luis. I created this article as a fan of architecture. Let me ask you this: Are you an architect or have enough credentials to back up your position about an article related to architecture? Please do some research yourself. It appears that your sole basis for notability is if a person is a MOVIE STAR. I used the title as username and the name of the article because it is the most logical and easiest name to remember. If you do a search on "Lira Luis" from the Yahoo! search engine, you will see a lot of articles written ABOUT Ms Luis, and NOT BY her. Most of these articles are by foreign writers. I think the original article I wrote about her was unfairly reported and deleted. It appears as a blatant sabotage against a person by a group who appears to be very jealous of the success of Ms Luis. The persons in question are: You and Blakegripling ph, who conspired to taint the reputation of Ms Luis. Please read these articles that will justify the notability of the achievements of Ms Luis:

FYI I did not suggest the article for deletion. I just suggested to the other wikipedia editors to check the said article for the notability of the person because the article is written in an overly promotional manner and FYI wikipedia is not a fansite, and if you are planning to write about her, please do so in an appropriate manner considering the principles and policies of wikipedia: notability, conflict of interest and neutral point of view. And by the way, I am not jealous about her because I don't even know her. If you are a fan of Lira Luis, then maybe you should make a fan site about her, not in Wikipedia. Next time, don't be rude in accusing me about nonsense things like this.Kleomarlo (talk) 15:27, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I just like to inform you that the category Category:OPM albums is reserved for albums of the band OPM (band) and not for Original Pilipino Music. The categorization scheme for albums is Category:<artist or band name> albums example Category:Eraserheads albums and the by-artist category is categorized under Category:Filipino albums. Hope that helps. --bluemask (talk) 11:05, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oooppps...I thought it was OPM as in Original Pilipino Music...I placed this category in some Pinoy albums...I'll remove them right away...Kleomarlo (talk) 11:09, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, to prevent overcategorization, lets just keep Category:Filipino albums reserved for by-artist categories and albums with no specific artists like compilations only. Example: 1-2-3 (APO Hiking Society album) does not need to be directly under Category:Filipino albums since it is already under Category:Apo Hiking Society albums, a category which is under Category:Filipino albums already. --bluemask (talk) 11:30, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accidentally deleting other Wikiprojects' banners

[edit]

Hi Kleomarlo,

In this edit [1] on Nov 6 to Talk:Pacific Ring of Fire, you added the Template:WPPhilippines but in doing so you accidentally prevented the Template:Volcano from appearing on the page. This caused the article Pacific Ring of Fire to be removed from our Wikiproject's assessment log, and this is a TOP importance article for us. I just noticed this problem today, and it took me several minutes to figure out how to fix it, but eventually I found that the "1=" must be removed to make the first banner show. I have now fixed it.

Please be more careful with such edits in the future. Make sure to preview the talk page and ensure that ALL other Wikiprojects' banners are still showing properly before saving the page.

Thanks, --Seattle Skier (talk) 21:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Dwayulookatme.ogg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Dwayulookatme.ogg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Dwayulookatme.ogg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:41, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Rafflesia schadenbergiana flower.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rafflesia schadenbergiana flower.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 04:14, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:RaffBanahaw1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RaffBanahaw1.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:06, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Acather96 (talk) 07:22, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For your information.

The article Al-Amanah Islamic Investment Bank of the Philippines has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable. The only ref in the article talks about its acquisition by the Developmental Bank.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notice

The file File:Christian bautista-nasaan ka man ost.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Nasaan Ka Man#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
