Speedy deletion of Sun Direct Tv

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sun Direct Tv requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Blowdart | talk 11:20, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

December 2008

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Sun Direct Tv, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Blowdart | talk 12:18, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Sun Direct Tv

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sun Direct Tv, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

I noticed that you were active in editing the said article above. Thanks for participating in the editing works, however there are a few things you need to take note.

Notice the "discussion" tab above every articles? Well, the said article has a rather comprehensive talk page for you to refer. The thing is, many editors (mostly anonymous) didn't bother about it and edit straight away, and the section where the article changes the most frequently is obviously tagged with {{crystal}}. This means that the information there could be inaccurate and easily disputable. I placed the tag, in fact, and I did wish it wasn't there in the first place.

Therefore, I really hope that those information are cited with reliable sources. If not, they're most likely being challenged and replaced. Also, we prefer info that are specific, and not opinion-based. So your recent edit of changing "unconfirmed/speculated since 2007" to "not confirmed yet" isn't pleasing to me (at least). And yes, forums are not reliable sources, by the way.

I'm not using a lecturing tone here, but just wanted you to know that Wikipedia does have rules of its own, and it's better to adhere to it. Besides, we want quality articles here, not edit wars! HУтaяtalk2mecontribs 22:25, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
