Article Incubator Invitation

[edit]

Hi. As a last attempt to establish notability, I have put the article on Bocconi School of Law Student-Edited Papers in the article incubator, here: Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Bocconi School of Law Student-Edited Papers. Feel free to cooperate if you have any practical ideas to help establish notability (note: the version therein posted is different - and shorter - from that which was eventually deleted). Thanks for your help, --Grasshopper6 (talk) 10:16, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Novi Ligure Homicide

[edit]

An editor has nominated Novi Ligure Homicide, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Novi Ligure Homicide and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Copyediting

[edit]
Your recent contributions to Wikipedia are very much appreciated. However, please take a moment to look over your contributions for spelling, grammatical, capitalization, and punctuation errors before submitting them in final. This will help lessen the amount of copyediting work that fellow Wikipedians need to do, and will help improve the overall appearance of Wikipedia. Finally, don't take this message personally. Thank you! Cue the Strings 17:11, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting edits

[edit]

Can you please look at the rationale provided before you undo edits? I apologize for reverting several of your edits, as I know they were made in good faith, but many of them were either irrelevant to the article (how are the activities of Davis Elkins' daughter relevant to Elkins himself?) or difficult to comprehend because they were written in broken English. Please look at the copyediting notice directly above this message. I'd be happy to continue discussion on my talk page if you have any questions, but I'd like to ask you to consider the strength of your edits to these articles instead of simply reverting them back. Thanks.

Edited to add: Just read my message over, and I apologize if any of this came off the wrong way. I appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, especially the new articles you've created, but I think it may be more helpful for everyone if you provide an edit summary with your edits. That way, people can see why you've chosen to add certain information or why it should be considered important. We've disagreed on a couple of your edits, and it would probably be more productive to communicate and compromise instead of reverting them back and forth. An edit summary would really help clear things up. Again, I hope my comments haven't discouraged you in any way from contributing. Happy editing! Cue the Strings 22:20, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Offer of Help

[edit]

Ciao, Lucifero! My name is Peter, and I have read several of your articles. I like most of them very much. Your contributions really help me, an English-speaker, understand more about Bergamo and Lombardy and Italy. (A wise man's advice: write what you know about.) I speak Italian a little, but my Italian is even worse than your English. Ha! The offer I make is this: because I understand Italian quite well, I feel comfortable in saying that I usually understand what you are trying to say in English, even though what you have written is not of a high quality. I can improve it, and you can tell me if the "improvement" is, indeed, what you mean to say. Again, I cannot write as well in Italian as you do in English, so, please, do not be insulted by this offer. I respect you. I think we might make a good team. What do you think? Our Lady of the Ghiaie

[edit]

Yes, I am interested in this. It reminds me so much of Fatima, but I never heard of it before. To me, it is not so important what the church says about Ghiaie. Even if it was not a real apparition of the Blessed Mother, it is an interesting case of collective hallucination (maybe a solar phenomenon or visitors from who-knows-where), a case involving a forced confession, etc. I think, some day there should be an article about this. Maybe you aren't the one to do it, maybe not me either, but someone should write it. It's a good topic. (By the way, is there any relation between Adelaide Roncalli and another famous Roncalli from your part of the world?)

Two other things I wanted to say to you, Lucifero: first, did you look at the Libertà condizionata edits? I have some questions. Is my interpretation of the requirements for libertà correct? (Especially condition n° 3.) Also, how does a mafia guy (tipo mafioso) prove to the court that he has stopped being a mafia guy? To me, this is an interesting question.

The last thing: I do not suggest that you write articles in Italian and send them to me for translation. I suggest only that you send me a message if you have trouble expressing something difficult, and I will try to help. Or, maybe you write an article and you want me, a sympathetic reader, to edit it first (before the tigers tear it apart, -- not because it should be torn apart, but because they are tigers, and they think this is required of them.) You understand, I think. ArrivederLa, PeterHuntington 00:46, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Ammiraglio di Divisione, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Nonsense of Corte d'Assise

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Corte d'Assise, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Corte d'Assise provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Corte d'Assise, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Renaming articles

[edit]

Hi I see that a few months ago you renamed Talk:Brixen to Talk:Brixen - Bressanone even though Brixen - Bressanone was just a redirect to the main article at Brixen. Please don't move Talk pages separately from their articles - it really messes up the system. And more generally, it's a bad idea to rename an article without starting a discussion first, unless it's something really trivial like the wrong capitalisation. There's all sorts of official guidelines on moving articles to different names, see WP:MOVE - if in doubt, ask, perhaps at the WikiProject Italy talk page. Best wishes and happy editing. You are doing the same thing currently with the article on Frances Xavier Cabrini. This is her name as rendered in English when she became an American citizen. Raffaele Cadorna jr

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Raffaele Cadorna jr, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Raffaele Cadorna jr.   — Jeff G. Speedy deletion of Sottotenente

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sottotenente, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:07, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Lucifero4. Please stop recreating deleted redirects, especially those in Italian. If someone speaks Italian, and is searching for a specific article, there is the Italian Wikipedia. This is, of course, the English Wikipedia, and so everything should be in the English language. Foreign language sources can be used if English language ones aren't available, but it's discouraged. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. You can reply here, I'll see it if you do. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 01:41, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Lucifero4, for creating this article on a clearly notable WWI and WWII Italian soldier and statesman. The best thing about Wikipedia is finding articles about interesting people. I am reading some newspaper articles and ordered a book about Raffaele Cadorna, Sr., Luigi Cadorna, and Raffaele Cadorna, Jr. I have read very little about the Italian resistance movement in WWII, although I knew the general gist of it. After reading your brief article on Cadorna, Jr., I am inspired to read a lot more about this movement and the volunteers who became the post-WWII leaders of Italy. It appears I will have to brush up on my Italian, which I have not spoken since childhood, because there is little information in English. Thank you for taking the time to write this one article. --69.226.108.255 (talk) 22:10, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In your edit to Supreme Court of the United States, you changed the dates indicating when Joseph Story was the most junior Justice, and replaced 1823 with 1845. 1845 was the year Story died, but he was not the most junior justice throughout his tenure. Since the sentence specifies that he was the junior justice for 4,228 days, it should have been clear it could not be a period of over 30 years (30 years would be well over 10,000 days). 1823, the year in which th enext appointment occurred, was the correct year. The statment about the fact that Serenelli can be sentenced to death is false because death penlty has been abolished in Italy for common crimes since 1889 with the new penal code of Zanardelli.
Ruef states that he was initially sentenced to death. I suggest that you add a statement about the apparent contradiction, but do not remove what's already in the article, as it is properly sourced. Ward3001 (talk) 16:18, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Amadei

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Amadei requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. A great deal of discussion has gone into the criteria and how to apply Category:Homophobia to articles. See Category talk:Homophobia. It resulted in a FAQ under construction at Talk:Homophobia/FAQ temp. The gist of it, is, according to the conclusions found by the European Union and the Yogyakarta Principles, having a religious pretext for discriminating against LGBT people does not negate the real homophobic effect. For example, even Leviticus 18 is under this category. - Gilgamesh (talk) 21:17, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Yara Gambirasio, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

clearly non-notable murder victim per WP:NEWS

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sadads (talk) 01:13, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Giorgio Magnocavallo, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.bucks-squash.co.uk/images/boys%20u13.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:49, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Yara Gambirasio has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Murder victims are generally not considered notable enough for biographic articles (unless they are notable for other reasons). The murderer or the crime might be notable but often isn't either. Such things are tragic and newsworthy but not encyclopaedic.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DanielRigal (talk) 22:08, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The survey takes only 6 minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist us in analyzing the results of the survey; the WMF will not use the information to identify you.

  • If this invitation also appears on other accounts you may have, please complete the survey once only.
  • If this has been sent to you in error and you have never patrolled new pages, please ignore it.

Please click HERE to take part.
Many thanks in advance for providing this essential feedback.

Hi. When you recently edited Pier Alberto Carrara, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Serina (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]

Hey Lucifero4. I'm dropping you a note because you used to (or still do!) patrol new pages. This is just to let you know that we've deployed and developed Page Curation, which augments and supersedes Special:NewPages - there are a lot of interesting new features :). There's some help documentation here if you want to familiarise yourself with the system and start using it. If you find any bugs or have requests for new features, let us know here. Thanks! Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Chief of Staff of the French Navy may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Diff: [1] A simple link to your user page is insufficient, as it does not include a time/date stamp, which is required (and which is generally helpful). Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:26, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I second that. I'll also add that Wikipedia's deletion discussions aren't votes; the closing administrator will evaluate the policy-based arguments in favour of and opposed to deletion (or in favour of other outcomes). A mere "keep" or "delete" will be dismissed. Huon (talk) 00:07, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Missile units of the Italian Army indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Notice

The article Giorgio Magnocavallo has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
