Kevin Smith/View Askew

[edit]

Hi, I am in the process of establishing the Wikipedia: WikiProject View Askew, and I notice that you did some userbox/banner work that seems out of date now(the pic is gone) posted here: User:DodgerOfZion/View Askew Project. Can you possibly update that for the new and improved project? I am still working the main page, but take a look and let me know if you can contribute, thanks! Skeletor2112 (talk) 09:23, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, I was messing around with your template infobox and did this one: Template:Wikiproject_View_Askew If you can improve it at all, be my guest(Im new with templates and the like) Thanks, Skeletor2112 (talk) 10:59, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks for any help - I copied and pasted another template, and added the new VA logo already uploaded here to make this new one, but if you know any way to improve it, go for it:
View Askew
This page is within the scope of WikiProject View Askew, a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse and related subjects on Wikipedia. If you would like to participate, please visit the project page, where you can join the discussion and see a list of open tasks.
Thanks again, and if you wanna join the new project, check out the project page here. Skeletor2112 (talk) 05:54, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, I figured the logo may cause problems, it was already uploaded here so I just used it, but it would be good to have a free image... although I have no idea what that could be - maybe there is a fan photo somewhere of Jay and Bob in characther, but who knows. Anyway, thanks for the info and if you ever wana join, feel free! Skeletor2112 (talk) 06:25, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:MarvelLogo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MarvelLogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:49, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:FFReedRichards.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hi! I think the last part of the list of X-Men teams article should be deleted or redirected. The Xavier Institute Student Body page already lists all the students found on the X-Teams page, and does a better job since it's more centralized to the students and lists students old and new. Having both articles list the students seems redundant - it would also help to lighten the load on the giant X-Teams page too, since the students are lost in the swarms of other X-Teams. On this note, the image will in all likelihood be deleted as it simply isn't a significant image. It is a shot of a female in sunglasses. It could be any variety of Carol Danvers or someone else. Labelling still does nothing as the image adds nothing. There'a shot of Danvers in her mdoern look; original and as Binary. This tiny image adds nothing significant. That's where it fails. If there was a shot of Ultimate Danvers in tech-gear, then that might be suitable. The current image, however, is not. Asgardian (talk) 05:41, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File source problem with File:Gabecov.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Gabecov.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 19:16, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
