Problem with the list of unproduced DreamWorks Animation Projects

[edit]

I was trying to add in a cancelled project which was a reboot of Underdog that was to be planned back in 2015 but it was canceled. JonHaroldMeyer96 (talk) 04:05, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry i do not remove content without putting a reason unless it is a straightforward matter. Please cite examppes of your allegation. Otherwise it will be disregarded. Thank you. Globallycz (talk) 18:40, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Globallycz - I have cited an example of my allegation in my message left on your talk page, where it says 'this edit'. In the edit, you had done as you had described - added information regarding an alias of Armand, however you had also removed a significant portion of his early career, along with 3 citations. There was seemingly no reason for you to remove this portion of his page.
I strongly discourage you to "disregard" the contributions of other editors, as it can be considered edit warring and result in a further warnings and/or administrative action. Synorem (talk) 18:48, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Skyline High School page

[edit]

As a representative of Skyline High School, I removed the section about "shootings" as it had nothing to do with the school, and is an inflammatory and unfair entry on the page. Unless all businesses and schools that have been impacted by crime and violence have all these incidents listed, it should not be listed on the Skyline page. Thanks for the help removing it. 2601:644:9183:5C00:B575:D62D:74E9:FA6C (talk) 19:29, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reaching out regarding this @2601:644:9183:5C00:B575:D62D:74E9:FA6C.
I understand your concern, but in regards to Wikipedia's notability policy, the actions that had occurred at the school are notable in nature and therefore justify addition to the article, as it is cited by reliable third-party sources. The goal is not to unfairly associate the school with negative events, nor is it to intentionally damage the reputation of the school. It is so that we can reflect and record notable history factually and impartially - as it could be argued that erasing these events could be considered as censorship - which Wikipedia does not support. Notice

[edit]

Hello Synorem. I thanks for restoration of my edit. I saw in the url that was dead, so i removed thar one. If my edit is mistoke i ask appology to you. Thanks. --Balu1967 (talk) 06:20, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Balu1967 - No worries, I understand you were trying to help. Our rules around 'link-rot' - when a link dies and is no longer available - it is Wikipedia policy to keep the link there, and see if there are other methods of repair. My main reason of reverting the edit was also because of a missing edit summary, telling me what you had removed and why. Without that, to me, it just looks like you're removing random information from an article - which I know isn't the case here. Synorem (talk) 14:00, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you write my edit as vandalism

[edit]

Sorry that the image did not render properly. But this diff is not vandalism. Please tell me if I am wrong. Who am I? / Talk to me! / What have I done? 15:43, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, @ObserveOwl fixed it Who am I? / Talk to me! / What have I done? 15:45, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Anonymous1261 In regards to the both of you - no worries, I understand it wasn't necessarily vandalism, thus no template warning. It was due to the overly large image which filled up the page. Good to see it's fixed :) Synorem (talk) 15:49, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see then, that's fine. I've never used Ultraviolet so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Anonymous1261: On the Wikilove tool, insert just the filename (Dosa at Sri Ganesha Restauran, Bangkok (44570742744).jpg) on the "Enter an image filename", you don't need to insert the square brackets or "File:" or all that. The script does it for you. ObserveOwl (talk) 15:57, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pidakala war disccusion

[edit]

Can you please ask someone to close the topic since it has become a sensitive topic and alot oof communities are being included based on biased editing, can you ask someone to put a lock on edits so that only top moderators could edit it instead of being available to the puvblic? I beg you because this is getting out of hand, i use wiki daily and seeing this makes me sad Zezo39 (talk) 15:52, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It has been requested - twice - on WP:RPP. You can help by leaving it alone for now, any and all people who contributed in the edit war are likely to get punished. Synorem (talk) 15:54, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You made my day

[edit]

I know giving people "Happy First Edit Day" and "Happy Birthday" messages is a daily (and under appreciated) thing, but I was in a pretty bad place today and you snapped me out of it. So thank you, no matter how trivial it is. You genuinely made my day, and I hope you don't mind me letting you know about it. And don't worry about the double-templating, the more messages the merrier. :) EF5 21:38, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Always happy to hear I've helped brighten up the day of someone else, regardless of how. You're very much welcome, and I hope you're doing all that bit better now @EF5 Synorem (talk) 01:23, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

re:The Adventures and Misadventures of Maqroll

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your message. I'm confused - the Wikipedia:Manual of Style and the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Titles of works both say that "Novellas which are only published as parts of collections use quotation marks." Do they call for italics in addition to quotation marks?

Thanks to your editing, I discovered that Mutis apparently won the 2002 Neustadt Prize for his body of work, not for any one work. You were right to remove the award from the page.

I very much appreciate your assistance. Don Q314 (talk) 01:09, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Don Q314 - nice to see you around!
If I'm not mistaken, in this case there would not be a need for italics in addition to quotation marks. Per MOS:TITLE, the goal is to distinguish these shorter works from standalone novels, which in turn, would be italicized. I appreciate your attention to detail in your article editing - both with the MoS and with the 2002 Neustadt Prize. Keep up the good work! Synorem (talk) 01:21, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I'm sorry, I thought it was you who had added the italics. Since we agree, I will remove the italics.
Also, my Plot section paragraphs for the final novella, "Triptych on on Sea and Land", have vanished. Was there a problem with these paragraphs?
Thanks for your patience - I'm new to this game. Don Q314 (talk) 01:26, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
One more question - the name of Flor Estevez was removed from my summary of "The Snow of the Admiral", but her name is important in my (since removed) summary of "A True History of the Encounters and Complicities of Maqroll the Gaviero and the Painter Alejandro Obregón". Was there a reason to remove her name? Don Q314 (talk) 01:34, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem! When I undid your revision, I undone the whole of your work, not just the uncited part. Not to worry - you too can undo my action from the view history section. From there you can simply keep what was beneficial to the article, and remove the italics, the award, and such.

So no worries - I hadn't seen anything of concern other than the uncited material. Should be all good to add back Thumbs up icon Synorem (talk) 01:44, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK - thanks again. Don Q314 (talk) 02:14, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it was deliberate because the info was completely irelevant

[edit]

There was no reason for that info to be there. 2001:BB6:7DC4:500:30F6:5B65:6214:22DB (talk) 15:29, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removing information and replacing it with "I removed it because it didn't seem at all relevant." is not in line with our editing policies.
This is something that could've been discussed on the page's talk page rather than removing the information outright. Synorem (talk) 15:32, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How to make an edit without an article's presence on Wikipedia?

[edit]

If you could create the page, I could gladly share the article links. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brandnewmonk (talkcontribs) 08:12, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Need help. Brandnewmonk (talk) 08:10, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused what you mean here - as in, you want to make an edit on an article @Brandnewmonk? Synorem (talk) 08:11, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I want to create an article about TableSprint from a third party perspective. I even shared the article links about the organisation. I am not getting paid by them anyway but I found their app interesting and hence do my bit for them. Brandnewmonk (talk) 08:14, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can click here to learn how to begin making a draft for a new article, if you believe there is reason for it to be created. It will be reviewed by our new page patrollers within due course. Synorem (talk) 08:17, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
