[edit]Please do not remove/undo adequately and real cited facts on a politician. Whatever I have cited are information that are in public domain. Since your bias is evident from your previous edits (or should I call it vandalism), I have tried to cite the best possible sources so that you don't flag my additions as poorly cited. But you went a step ahead and just removed the whole thing without giving any proper explanation. I believe, since politicians are public persons, it is important to cite facts. Your trying to remove my properly cited and factually true section shows your lack of knowledge on the topic and your evident bias. Kindly refrain from vandalising if you have no constructive things to add or suggest. We can engage upon this if you wish however I would appreciate that you let the real facts exist and keep the article unbiased. Encyclo Enthusiast (talk) 10:07, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- The addition is a listing of unrelated arguments, incidents and other minor spats which was collated to create a novel premise that the person is "often been accused of using unparliamentary language". This is called synthesis and is prohibited. On top of that, the tone of the write-up, the weight given to individual incidents and the summarization of the sources are all inappropriate. To give an example, take the case of the "Susu Potty Republic" comment, the write-up is about 3 random twitter commentators not liking it (does not have weight) while the reason why she made the comment was omitted. (She appears to be accusing the government of damaging the rule of law because Twitter India offices were raided by the police after a party spokesperson's tweet was tagged as "manipulated media")
- Most of the sources can be flagged as poor as well (ranging from sensationalist tabloids to obscure and/or unreliable) but that's an afterthought at this point. The article is a BLP, and all additions need to strictly comply with policies, the tone should be dispassionate and minor and marginal issues or views should not be included or given undue prominence.
- I've removed the addition, the onus to gain consensus for inclusion is on you, the one who wants to include material, even if the material were to be "adequately and real cited facts". This is particularly relevant in a BLP article where such material should be immediately removed. Moreover when you make an addition and it is removed, you are expected to start a discussion and gain consensus for it before restoring it, per WP:BRD which you did not follow.
- If you have a problem with this and think that your addition is good, then I would highly recommend that you go to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard and start a new section, where you can get input from other editors. Tayi Arajakate Talk 12:15, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

WikiCup 2023 March newsletter
[edit]So ends the first round of the 2023 WikiCup. Everyone with a positive score moved on to Round 2, with 54 contestants qualifying. The top scorers in Round 1 were:
- Unlimitedlead with 1205 points, a WikiCup newcomer, led the field with two featured articles on historical figures and several featured article candidate reviews.
- Epicgenius was in second place with 789 points; a seasoned WikiCup competitor he specialises in buildings and locations in New York.
- FrB.TG was in third place with 625 points, garnered from a featured article on a filmmaker which qualified for an impressive number of bonus points.
- TheJoebro64, another WikiCup newcomer, came next with 600 points gained from two featured articles on video games.
- Iazyges was in fifth place with 532 points, from two featured articles on classical history.
The top sixteen contestants at the end of Round 1 had all scored over 300 points; these included LunaEatsTuna, Thebiguglyalien, Sammi Brie, Trainsandotherthings, Lee Vilenski, Juxlos, Unexpectedlydian, SounderBruce, Kosack, BennyOnTheLoose and PCN02WPS. It was a high-scoring start to the competition.
These contestants, like all the others, now have to start again from scratch. The first round finished on February 26. Remember that any content promoted after that date but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Some contestants made claims before the new submissions pages were set up, and they will need to resubmit them. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.
If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Sturmvogel 66 and Cwmhiraeth. Radio Quarantine
[edit]I was looking at this page for a possible future GA review and got the distinct impression that the two Radio Quarantines are unrelated except for name and purpose. Would they be better off as separate articles? I see a scope issue relevant for GA. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 01:42, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Sammi Brie, sorry for the late response. I'm not sure what to make of it. I could make the article be about the Kolkata based radio and move the Bangalore based one to the article on Yashas Shetty since I don't think the latter would be independently notable.
- When I first made the article, I had seen The Economist article and Scroll.in article, and gotten the impression that they are two stations of the same organisation, since only these two sources had covered the Bangalore based one, had done so alongside the Kolkata based one and placed them in the same context, without clarity that they may be separate and just namesakes. I later realised after a second look at the Scroll.in article that neither of the sources had mentioned a direct organisational link and that there's also a New Indian Express article which solely covers Shetty and his radio, so I restructured the article in that order.
- So what do you think? Tayi Arajakate Talk 09:41, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- I think it's time to split: Radio Quarantine Kolkata and The Radio Quarantine (split the latter out, then move Radio Quarantine to the former and put a dabpage after repointing links). Judging by the content, the latter article will be shorter than the former, and the Kolkata one would probably be the one to continue at GA. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 17:35, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

Removal of [failed verification] tags
[edit]You removed two tags from this page here, without providing any proof of sourcing, with the edit summary "rv disruptive cite tagging". Firstly, do not make frivolous allegations of disruptive editing when it is obvious no such editing has occurred. However, removing legitimate tags by claiming them to be disruptive does fall under WP:DE, and you should be careful of your own conduct.
Before removing those tags again, kindly elucidate on the talk page of that article as to which section of the paper the statements are cited to. As of now it seems to only be possible through WP:SYNTH, as none of what is stated is directly supported by the source. Captain Jack Sparrow (talk) 06:39, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- There is a source cited with all the details present in it and the stated lines are an accurate summary of the cited chapter. If you have any problems or believe there are inaccuracies in how the source is summarised, you are free to bring them on the talk page but stamping multiple "failed verification" tags on such a sentence is very clear disruptive cite tagging 101. Tayi Arajakate Talk 07:19, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- For the policy you cited, theres a difference in Failed verification and Citation needed - "Citation needed" when citation exists is clear disruption; "Failed verification" when citation exists is a way to allow possibly wrongly sourced material to be justified/modified without engaging in deletion of material. I have replied to your content based concerns on the Talk page of the article. Captain Jack Sparrow (talk) 08:10, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- Using a "failed verification" tag instead of "citation needed" to do the exact same thing does not make it not disruptive. Tayi Arajakate Talk 08:47, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

- Pm modi supported this film in his political rally.[1]
- Film got tax free in Madhya Pradesh.[2]
- Film got banned in west bengal.[3]
- Threatre owners said they will not screen this film in Tamil Nadu.[4]
- Reference about that fictional storyline in disclaimer of film has been reported by The Hindu.[5]
- In this report of The Wire [6] they said
"The figure of 32,000 recruits from India, and the assertion that a large number of them were women, is therefore absurd – all the more so because estimates by the European Union and the Central Intelligence Agency in the US have put the maximum strength of the IS at its height at around 30,000"

Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Women in Red 8th Anniversary
[edit]Women in Red 8th Anniversary | |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |

[edit]The fourth round of the competition has finished, with anyone scoring less than 673 points being eliminated. It was a high scoring round with all but one of the contestants who progressed to the final having achieved an FA during the round. The highest scorers were
- Epicgenius, with 2173 points topping the scores, gained mainly from a featured article, 38 good articles and 9 DYKs. He was followed by
- Sammi Brie, with 1575 points, gained mainly from a featured article, 28 good articles and 50 good article reviews. Close behind was
- Thebiguglyalien, with 1535 points mainly gained from a featured article, 15 good articles, 26 good article reviews and lots of bonus points.
Between them during round 4, contestants achieved 12 featured articles, 3 featured lists, 3 featured pictures, 126 good articles, 46 DYK entries, 14 ITN entries, 67 featured article candidate reviews and 147 good article reviews. Congratulations to our eight finalists and all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them and within 24 hours of the end of the final. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
I will be standing down as a judge after the end of the contest. I think the Cup encourages productive editors to improve their contributions to Wikipedia and I hope that someone else will step up to take over the running of the Cup. Sturmvogel 66 (talk), and Cwmhiraeth (talk)

Women in Green GA Editathon October 2023 - Around the World in 31 Days
[edit]Hello Tayi Arajakate:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2023!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2023, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

WikiCup 2024 March newsletter
[edit]The first round of the 2024 WikiCup ended at 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February. Everyone with at least 30 points moved on to Round 2, the highest number of points required to advance to the second round since 2014. Due to a six-way tie for the 64th-place spot, 67 contestants have qualified for Round 2.
The following scorers in Round 1 all scored more than 300 points:
- Generalissima (submissions), who has 916 points mostly from one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher), 15 GAs, and 16 DYKs on a variety of topics including New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures, in addition to seven reviews
- Vami_IV (submissions), who has 790 points from two FAs on Felix M. Warburg House and Doom (2016 video game), two GAs, one DYK, and 11 reviews
- AirshipJungleman29 (submissions), who has 580 points from one FA on Hö'elün, two GAs on Mongolia-related articles, two DYKs, and five reviews
- Sammi Brie (submissions), who has 420 points mostly from nine GAs and seven DYKs on television and radio stations
- MaranoFan (submissions), who has 351 points from one FA on Holidays (Meghan Trainor song), a nine-article FT on 30 (album), and three DYKs
- Skyshifter (submissions), who has 345 points from one FA on OneShot, one DYK and two reviews
In this newsletter, the judges would like to pay a special tribute to Vami_IV (submissions), who unfortunately passed away this February. At the time of his death, he was the second-highest-scoring competitor. Outside the WikiCup, he had eight other featured articles, five A-class articles, eight other good articles, and two Four Awards. Vami also wrote an essay on completionism, a philosophy in which he deeply believed. If you can, please join us in honoring his memory by improving one of the articles on his to-do list.
Remember that any content promoted after 27 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.
