Orphaned non-free image (File:If This Was A Movie Cover.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:If This Was A Movie Cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 21:42, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Like A Storm requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Removed speedy deletion tag: User:Ice Nine Kills (Band)

[edit]

Hi The Hyphen! Firstly, thanks for helping out in CSD areas. I just wanted to inform you that I removed the speedy deletion tag you placed on User:Ice Nine Kills (Band)- because: A7 only applies to articles. See WP:What is an article? If you have any questions or other message, please contact me. Thanks Kingpin13 (talk) 23:52, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Your Ice Nine Kills Article

[edit]

Thanks! Unfortunately it does not matter how good of an article I write, the band must still meet the music ensemble notability guidelines and must also be cited with reliable sources. If you have anything to contribute, please feel free to edit my sandbox! Fezmar9 (talk) 20:28, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Hitler's Handicapped Helpers, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Hitler's Handicapped Helpers (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

File:Burn Burn alternate cover.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Burn Burn alternate cover.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 02:14, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Summertime in Gameland has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable mixtape with little or no media coverage of substance. Fails WP:NALBUM.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TheJazzDalek (talk) 18:09, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ruth Pineda has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Nomination of Ruth Pineda for deletion

[edit]

The article Ruth Pineda is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ruth Pineda until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. The-Pope (talk) 03:43, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Danny Casler and Pennywise

[edit]

Hi there! I have reverted your edit in the Pennywise article. I think your information must be wrong (your source also only says "it appears")... I saw Pennywise yesterday live in Munich and Zoli was on vocals. Danny was only a guest for one song (which wasn't a Pennywise song btw if I remember correctly). Non-free rationale for File:LightningontheStrings.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:LightningontheStrings.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. File permission problem with File:Gangstagrass.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gangstagrass.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. We hope (talk) 02:40, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In order to be used, OTRS must have a record of the permission being granted. Please follow the instructions on the template. We hope (talk) 02:40, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Notability is not inherited to all of an artist's recordings just because they themselves are notable. I haven't seen any entry in the Under the Radar series gain much attention aside from the first. If publications are talking about Volume 3's impending release, by all means, please do include evidence of it. If not, the album still fails WP:NALBUMS. Notability is not established by linking to places that sell the album, because these are primary sources. Ss112 23:33, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please reply on your own talk page instead of creating a new section on another user's. In reply to what you said, "Why should I post references that I did not actually get the information from? You're supposed to only cite what you used for the article." Yes, and you should have referred to news sources. If you didn't use news sources, consider that it's not notable. As for scoping out articles I've made—which hasn't been updated in months, mind you, and I've made over 50 articles since then—that sounds like you're just being bitter. You might notice that literally none of the articles I've made use primary sources as the only references on the article, as yours did. Mine all use news sources—I would absolutely not be making an article if I only had references to a YouTube video (not considered reliable in most cases), and the artist's own web store. Also, what are "small publications"? Nobody, including myself, is saying some major global publication like The New York Times has to report on an album before it can have an article. You literally cited no news sources on Under the Radar Volume 3, hence why I redirected it. That's the difference. Ss112 22:08, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Honor Bright's albums

[edit]

Hi – I know you created the articles for Build Hearts from Stars and Action! Drama! Suspense!, but I literally can't find a single reliable source for either album, and therefore they fail WP:NALBUM. Unless you have any sources for them, I think both articles should be redirected to the Honor Bright article. Richard3120 (talk) 23:49, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article Creation Request

[edit]

Hi The Hyphen. I noticed that you significantly expanded the page called Eye On It (TobyMac's album). He's one of my favorite artists, and he recently published a new album titled The Lost Demos. I was wondering if you could draft an article for it. I found some sources:

Please get back to me soon, and thank you! Dswitz10734 (talk) 13:29, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Gaura Vani & As Kindred Spirits albums indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read!
