Nice job!

[edit]

Nice job on the Gary Lightbody article, will you please look into the other band member's articles after you're finished with this one please? Suede67 (talk) 02:24, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Suede. Have continued with Tom Simpson. Please check my spelling. P.S. We know each other ;) Me is the German shepherd dog on "the bright side". Bye the way, I owe you an answer from two months ago on Niall's blue board. Theme was "Shr.."). Apology for have not answered! Accidentially happened (not personally)! And you really do a fantastic job here. My compliment. My former wiki-name I use not more. That's here is my German Wiki-username, too and I write on German Wiki about SP, too. Well, what concerns the last changes on Tom Simpson article and why I deleted the gossip-crap there made by any wiki-users. To be honest: Generally I think it is fucking irrelevant about that allegedly drug possession. These drug-suggestions on the article were longer than the facts about Tom as musician and such goes not according to the base how Wikipedia as encyclopaedy works. I was annoyed since ages about. All what counts and according to the premisse to be neutrally is in dubio pro reo in law and as verdict of no guilty is that to respect in wiki-articles, too. What u think?

Have a good weekend -- E.

!!!

[edit]

HAha!!! It is you, I had no idea, dont apologise for anything, by the way. I did find little bit of spelling and grammatical errors, its just a language thing :) I did not know there is a separate page for SP on other language wikipedias, don't know why but i had just asssumed that it was the translated article on other wikis.

The article must be neutral yes, but i don't think we'd be neutral in removing the bit about the drug charges, But I like how you kept the tiniest bit. But dont you think that there should a sentence or two telling that tom was arrested for ALLEDGED possession, obviously nothing was proved, i guess thats why the charges were dropped. I think its only keeping in with article neutrality.

I feel that bit and the rest can be put into a personal life section, so I have done that, it's how it is in other articles i've seen. I think it looks okay as well.

The Simpson article needs an infobox though, I did not find much information on him (and Mark), so I did not put it myself, though I did so on Jonny & Nathan's page.

One request, please reply on my talk page, I cant always remember to check user pages, but if anything is posted on mine, it pops up a message, it makes it easier. See ya around! Suede67 (talk) 01:17, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request

[edit]

Could you do me a favor? Heed help shortening/rephrasing the tickets section HERE. Actually there is much more information on the site to be added, but its long as it is, and i have the feeling it has way too much information that doesnt even matter. Suede67 (talk) 05:09, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see...=

[edit]

First of all, thank you! I see what you mean, yes there were a whole lot of cancelled shows that time, but what I had in mind is that what if someone wanted to know what gigs were cancelled when paul got injured, or when gary lost his voice, i mean to say though the gigs were cancelled , they are a part of the tour, they're something that was planned to happen, but unfortunately due to conditions we cant control, didnt happen. Even though I put there "cancelled", i think all of them are in fact postponed, and i do write this fact where the table of the rescheduled gigs are.

Because I havent thought of the format of the tour articles by myself, i "copied/took ideas" for different ones i saw, like this one. But yeah, the article could look bloated, but in my view that's not entirely unneeded, but of course, "anyone can edit", its wikipedia! i wouldnt mind it, because you have a point, but of course i wouldnt stand for any sort of vandalism. What do you think? Suede67 (talk) 21:31, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

edit... do you happen to know where actually the secret gig 4 (SG#4) happened? cant find any info on it Suede67 (talk) 21:44, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! That's it! By the way, you are welcome to revert the cancelled parts, i think i didnt make you any happier with my argument earlier, sorry. Suede67 (talk) 23:08, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! :) The German wiki is weird! Why cant all wikis have same rules for posting? No wonder the SP article requires much work on there :( But what if you asked an admin that the english wiki has articles on all members, so why not german?

As for your article, I propose the following changes, I myself am not a native English speaker, my knowledge is only limited to school taught, and music! I did make changes where the spelling or grammar was a bit off. i still think you can make the following minor edits:

1. supporting young talented musicians and rockbands - i think "rockbands" can be removed, as the term musician would mean any rtist creating music

2. music and artist scene - i've always heard gary mention the term "music scene"/"burgeoning music scene" in interviews

3. music-genres are varying in its manifoldness of - i dont think that makes sense (manifoldness isnt a word), though i think i do get what you're trying to say, if i were to write that sentence, i'd probably write something like, "The Oh Yeah Music Centre supports artists whose styles span a variety of music genres like Alternative rock, Indie rock, Electronica, Post rock, Post punk, Crossover and Experimental rock."

4. Idea and formation - The section doesnt mention directly that it was gary's idea (if it was, i'm not sure) but it indirectly implies that by means of his quote. And as the section is rightly called "idea and formation", as the idea would always precede the formation part! It's a small point, but that's how i would do it. So my advice is to add a sentence or two about how gary came up with the idea, then his quote, and then the formation, including whom are supporting it and how the project came together.

5. The location of the centre doesnt have a reference, someone might remove it.

6. I think this article should be listed here. Its definitely a related article!

7. An infobox would be nice, like one here.

Nice article, by the way. Looks like we two are the only ones working on SP related articles in here. Let me know what you feel about my suggested changes, have a good day! Suede67 (talk) 14:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

---Nevermind! I have holidays for about half a month now, and what better way to spend time on the internet?! Good day! Suede67 (talk) 06:13, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

---Need some help here. The music vid section. I'm horrible with words, you're a writer, you can write a nice summary of the theme of the video! Suede67 (talk) 06:21, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

---One more request please! Could you please check my sandbox just once more to see if i have committed any spelling miskates? I checked thoroughly, but you never know. And any sort of suggestions really welcome. I want this one to be perfect before I post it out. Thanks, good day E Suede67 (talk) 12:08, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

---Sorry for bothering again, but is there any reason why isnt the pic showing here? Thanks in advanceSuede67 (talk) 13:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

:))

[edit]

Haha, yes, computers can be a handful. I;m from India by the way, and I speak Hindi. About the pic that wasnt showing. I had not uploaded it, i just added the same pic as the discography page has. it just didnt show, but magically, its shows now! HERE. Djont know whats up.

By the way, take your time. If there are any mistakes (grammatical or otherwise) on the planets' video section, i'll see to it. Thanks for your time! Have a good day E Suede67 (talk) 15:21, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of awards and nominations received by Snow Patrol now online, yay! thanks for your encouragement. I think this can be nominated for a featured/good list, as i took cues from a featured awards article. Can you nominate it, if you know how? I had previously asked a user here how, he explained me something, I'm reading that to figure something out, but very confusing! Suede67 (talk) 16:08, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

edit: i think i managed to figure it out. wasnt finding the correct page where the info was there before. here, i think i have done it right, lets see. Suede67 (talk) 16:21, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

did you finish checking it? you were going to do it yesterday night. by the way, if you're not having enough time, no problem, i will post it online. Suede67 (talk) 21:52, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination

[edit]

Nevermind, i did find a way how to nominate it. see here1 and here2 (number 28). By the way you agreed to check eyes open tour one last time before i post it online, seems you're quite busy, not a problem, but please let me know if you will be able to do it. good day ESuede67 (talk) 18:27, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I award this barnstar to Whoever99 for her encouragement, which ultimately led to this list getting featured! You may not be on wiki right now, but you're missed! Suede67 (talk) 13:58, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Suede, thank you. That's sweet of you! You make me smile here :)

Well, my wiki-abstinence has to do, that I write and program currently for a band their new magazine and that's fuckintastic much of work. But to your given award ... that's lovely. But you would own the Band-Supporting Award 2009. I'd wish SP would see that they have their energized working "dwarfs" behind their stage curtains. You do really a fantastic work. Keep your knowledge. I guess, you are the SP-Yoda ;) Best wishes and hugs Elke x --/~~ whoever99 17:50, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Best of luck to you! Suede67 (talk) 01:26, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gary's article

[edit]

Hi E, you have the time? Why not improve the article fully yourself? Suede67 (talk) 10:39, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, not re-write necessarily. Just additions and just make sure everything is well referenced. I will take care of the english problem no worries :) Just add whatever you think is important enough, and i'll make sure of the language. Thanks! And yes, a new pic would be nice, hopefully a more recent one. Suede67 (talk) 11:48, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah okay, I try. And I have already asked Jac if she can send a good photo. --/~~ whoever99 11:55, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Great! If possible we may also use newer photos for Nathan, Paul and a face pic of Jonny. And one for Mark, which can also be put on the Little Doses page. All of this is on my wish list, but I though should tell you since you are asking for pics. Suede67 (talk) 12:04, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nice job with the pics. Suede67 (talk) 10:12, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Paul looks like an angel in that one, great choices! Suede67 (talk) 22:09, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
**LOL** To a T-Diablo fits that, or? So close are hell and heaven to each other in one portrait ;) I rechanged again a photo of Gary by a newer one from 08. So now I search for the always behind drums and keyboards hidden Tom & Jonny - xx
Haha! Btw, yes! I see pics on flickr, and everyone seems to ignore all members except Gary and Nathan. Nice to have close face shotrs of the rest. Suede67 (talk) 22:32, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cut La Roc

[edit]

Wow great job!!! The article needs more refs though, and do you mind if i load the image to commons? Suede67 (talk) 22:33, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Suede, yeah, I know about the lack of references, but Lee will mail saved interviews to me. So I can put it then into it. And to the images, no, I don't mind. As to say it with Nike: Do It! ;) --/~~ whoever99 22:39, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
Haha "do it". i'll do it now. Suede67 (talk) 23:09, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
link I remembered your pic of "oh yeah belfast" studio as well, so did that one too. it loos neat now, all SP related images at one place! Suede67 (talk) 23:23, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, use the Oh Yeah B. pic. I have more shots done of it as I was in Belfast. But I've uploaded just the one of which I thought it fits to the article. The media site you did very well, hey. See it for the 1st time. Compliment. Great job. --/~~ whoever99 01:04, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Thank you! Just feel it'll be safe at commons, even if some pics arent being used on wiki, because admis delete orphan pics. Suede67 (talk) 01:53, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So far I know are all photos which are on Wiki and marked as GNU-licence available for other Wiki articles/projects by Wiki-authors. Your SP media site is superb I have to repeat me. Really a good idea. Admins remove pics which are not uploaded as GNU ones. As it happened with Jac's Nathan picture I have forgotten to set on 'gnu' whilst uploading. So I uploaded it again, this time with GNU and all is okay.
Yes, i did notice you uploaded 2 nathan pics, i had tagged to extra one for deletion, and it got deleted too. thanks for your appreciation! Suede67 (talk) 10:31, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:P-mastaz.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:P-mastaz.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy.
