Notability is claimed in the article. It says that "Jon Kauffman has written and directed five short films, one of which, A Fragrance of Night, won the “Best Undergraduate Drama” award at the Ivy Film Festival". External references can be found.

You removed the PROD template from Benjamin Vasserman with no explanation. Based on the claims made in the article he is de facto notable per WP:CREATIVE. This is evidenced by the claims made in the article that the artist has won many awards, and that his art is displayed in many galleries and exhibitions.
