William Sheffield Cowles (October 6, 1898 – May 2, 1986) was an American politician. He served as a Republican member of the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Life and career
[edit]Cowles was born in New York City and was a nephew of President Theodore Roosevelt.[1] He attended Yale University.[2] He saw service in both World War I and World War II, the first in the Marines the second in the Navy.[1]
Cowles served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1948[3] to 1956.
Cowles died May 2, 1986 at his family's home in Farmington, Connecticut,[1][4][2] at the age of 87.[3]
