Roshni (Huma Qureshi) is an IT professional who works at a company in Bangalore with her friend, Deepa (Sona Nair). They get separated: Deepa gets a job in New York, and Roshni gets a similar job in London with a manager named Anwar Rasool (Shankar Ramakrishnan).
Six months later, at a railway station, Roshni saves a businessman named Prakash Roy (Mammootty), who is attempting suicide by jumping in front of a train. When she realizes the man is under the influence of alcohol, she leaves him at the train station.
Later, his butler, Raymond, contacts Roshni after reviewing CCTV footage of the incident. When Roshni visits Prakash, she discovers he is Malayali and mistakenly assumes he is a womanizer. In anger, she breaks a plate in his presence. That evening, she finds a wallet belonging to him and discards it in a dustbin upon arriving home.
Prakash calls Roshni to retrieve his wallet and suggests they meet at the cemetery. When they meet, she returns the wallet, but Roshni is reluctant to form a friendship with him. One day, Prakash unexpectedly enters her office and pressures her to agree to meet later, planning a surprise birthday party for her.
On her birthday, Prakash celebrates with her at a roadside location, presents her with a gift, and later they spend time together at a casino, bar, factory, and other venues.
