Xylocarpus moluccensis is a tree in the family Meliaceae. It is named for the Moluccas archipelago (now Maluku Islands).[4]
Description
[edit]Xylocarpus moluccensis grows up to 30 m (98 ft) tall with a trunk diameter of up to 70 cm (28 in). The flowers are creamy-white. The roundish fruits measure up to 11 cm (4.3 in) in diameter.[4]
Distribution and habitat
[edit]Xylocarpus moluccensis grows naturally from the Sundarbans of India and Bangladesh through Mainland Southeast Asia and Malesia to tropical Australia. Its habitat is mangrove swamps.[1][4]
