Joseph Matthew Rothwell, detto Joe (Manchester, 11 gennaio 1995), è un calciatore inglese, centrocampista del Leeds Utd in prestito dal Bournemouth.
Caratteristiche tecniche
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Centrocampista abile nei passaggi e in fase difensiva, può essere impiegato anche sulle fasce, avendo iniziato a giocare come ala.[1]
Carriera

[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Cresciuto nel settore giovanile del Manchester United[1], il 27 gennaio 2015 passa in prestito fino al termine della stagione al Blackpool[2]; il 7 febbraio esordisce tra i professionisti, nella partita di Championship persa per 4-0 contro il Norwich City.[3] Il 18 luglio seguente viene ceduto al Barnsley[4], dovendo però far rientro allo United anticipatamente a causa di una tonsillite.[5]
Il 12 luglio 2016 firma un biennale con l'Oxford United, club militante in League One[6], con cui il 13 dicembre segna la prima rete in carriera, nella partita di FA Cup vinta per 3-0 contro il Macclesfield Town.[7] Il 22 giugno 2018 si trasferisce al Blackburn, con cui si lega fino al 2021.[8]
