Luis Bacalov - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Luis Enríquez Bacalov (30 August 1933 – 15 November 2017) was an Argentine-born Italian composer of movie scores. He was born in Buenos Aires.
In the early 1970s, he worked with Italian progressive rock bands. Bacalov has been nominated twice for the Academy Award for Original Music Score, winning it in 1996 for Il Postino.[1] He was the artistic director of the Orchestra della Magna Grecia in Taranto, Italy.[2]
Bacalov died in Rome on 15 November 2017 of leukemia at the age of 84.[3]
