Manaslu - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manaslu (Nepali: मनास्लु, also known as Kutang) is the eighth tallest mountain of the world. It is located in Gorkha of Nepal and it is the tallest peak of the Gorkha District in Nepal^[1]. It's height is 8,163 metres (26,781 ft).^[2] The name 'Manaslu' came from the Sanskrit word 'Manasa' which means 'spirit'. The first climb to Mount Manaslu was done by Toshio Imanishi (Japan) and Gyaltsen Norbu (Sherpa) in May 9, 1956. This mountain is called "Killer Mountain" has been climbed by about 210 people only. ^[3]
