SK Vorwärts Steyr is an an Austrian association football club from Steyr, Upper Austria.
History
[change | change source]The club was founded on April 14th, 1919. He is one of the oldest football clubs in Upper Austria. 1988 till 1996 they played in the Bundesliga. In 1999 the club went bankrupt and started again in lower leagues in 2001. In 2018 they were promoted to the Austrian Second League. In the 2022/23 season there were relegated sports teams for the first time since the last reform of the second division, including Vorwärts Steyr. In the last game of the season, the team lost 3-0 in a direct duel for relegation against their table neighbors FC Admira Wacker Mödling and had to move to the Middle Regional League after five seasons.
