"Sayaum̐ Thungā Phulkā" (Nepali: सयौं थुँगा फूलका, pronounced [ˈsəjə̃ʊ̃ ˈt̪ʰʊ̃ŋɡa ˈpʰulka]; transl. "Made of Hundreds of Flowers") has been the national anthem of Nepal since August 2007.^[1] when the country switched governments. Before that, it used to be "Rāṣṭriya Gān".^[2] The lyrics (words) were written by Byākul Māilā and the music was composed by Amber Gurung.^[3]

In August 2016, this anthem is #3 in BBC's list of Rio 2016: The most amazing national anthems due to its joyous tune and musical differences compared with other anthems.^[8]
