World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated every year on June 5. On this day, people are supposed to do good things for the natural environment and sustainability. These acts help to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The theme in 2024 is "Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience", in 2023 was “Solutions for plastic pollution”, 2022 was “Only One Earth”, 2021 was “Ecosystem restoration”, 2020 was "Time for nature", in 2019 was “Beat Air pollution” and in 2018 was "Beat Plastic pollution".
