MF & DAZN: X Series 21 – Unfinished Business will feature KSI vs Dillon Danis, an upcoming cruiserweight MF–professional crossover boxing match between English internet personality KSI and American mixed martial artist Dillon Danis. The bout is scheduled to take place on 29 March 2025 at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.[3][4]
Originally, KSI was scheduled to face English former footballer Wayne Bridge, but the bout was cancelled after Bridge withdrew on 20 January.[5]
Background
[edit]After losing to professional boxer Tommy Fury in October 2023 on X Series 10 – The Prime Card, YouTuber KSI took a break from boxing, but was set to return in August 2024 on X Series 17.[6] Prior to the announcement, KSI was in heavy negations to face former unified light welterweight champion Amir Khan.[7] However, in June, it was announced that KSI would face YouTuber Slim Albaher and mixed martial artist Anthony Taylor in a 2 vs 1 outnumbered tag team match.[8] On 1 August however, the bout was cancelled due to an injury sustained from KSI.[9]
During the broadcast of X Series 17, KSI stated he was eyeing to return in early 2025.[10] On 3 January 2025, Misfits Boxing announced that his return would be announced during the broadcast of X Series 20 on 18 January.[11] News broke hours before the announcement that former England and Premier League winning left-back Wayne Bridge is being lined up to face KSI for 29 March.[12] On the night, KSI came into the ring and revealed his original opponent withdrew, leading into a face off with Bridge.[3] The pair got into a brawl after KSI pushed Bridge and brought up John Terry and Bridge's former girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel.[13] However, two days later Bridge withdrew from the bout due to the comments made by KSI about Perroncel.[14] On 4 February, it was announced that American mixed martial artist Dillon Danis—who KSI was originally scheduled to face at X Series 004—would replace Bridge and headlined X Series 21 – Unfinished Business at Manchester Arena in Manchester.[15]
