Most expensive animated films page

[edit]
Extended content

I edited the links and added some new titles, first of all, you have to rename the title: "List of most expensive animated films", second, we have to decide on what is the lowest budget we can add, I say we put the limit somewhere at $140-$150m, because there are many animated films that have big budget that we may not have heard of, it doesn't matter if we have a top 50 or top 30, 25. I will find and add some new titles later. DCF94 (talk) 10:19, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Shaun the Sheep Movie

[edit]
Extended content

I have reverted your edit and ask that you take the issue to the talk page. First, the Variety cited source DOES NOT say $104 million. The article gives a vague, imprecise approximation, saying, "passed Sept. 14 the milestone $100 million global B.O. mark" without giving an actual number or where this claim came from, whereas Box Office Mojo, which uses studio-supplied figures and is WP:FILM standard, gives a precise figure. Frankly, this edit by an anon IP on Sept. 15 [1] feels promotional in nature. I have returned the figure to the long-stable version that was there for the bulk of this article's existence. If you wish to change that status quo, you need to discuss it on the talk page rather than edit-war. --Tenebrae (talk) 17:24, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Talk:List of highest-grossing films. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article? Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! --rayukk | talk 20:56, 19 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

All of the films have had a theatrical run (including re-releases) since 1980, and films that have not played since then do not appear on the chart due to ticket-price inflation, population size and ticket purchasing trends not being considered. In light of this edit made recently by this account, I thought it important to stress a few things to the person(s) editing from this IP address. To contribute to Wikipedia, a degree of competency is required. You should be able to add sources yourself when you add or change content. Spelling and grammar are important as well. You appear to be using this talk page as a test page, and as this account has made hundreds of edits over that past few months, I strongly suggest you create an account so that you get the use of a sandbox, along with other added benefits. Either way, as long as you continue editing;

A tag has been placed on Draft:List of Wallace and Gromit characters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.klikdvd.com/product/detail/10596/shaun-the-sheep-the-farmers-llamas-2015.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 333-blue 13:39, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of highest-grossing animated films

[edit]

Hi -- I changed the wording regarding the Wallace & Gromit films because it's confusing and unintentionally misleading "All films in the Wallace & Gromit franchise" aren't on the list -- the one theatrical film and a compilation of the shorts are, but the individual shorts aren't. (Also, I'm a fan of Aardman and W&G, so I'm not saying this because I don't want them included. :) Trivialist (talk) 13:17, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

all theatrically released films are one the list the on theatrical film and a compilation of the shorts as well as the Shaun movie.
But that's not what you put in the article. You said "All films in the Wallace and Gromit Franchise are on the list." The shorts are all films in the W&G franchise, and none of them are on the list, or even eligible for the list. Technically, it should be "All Wallace and Gromit-related theatrically released features are on the list," but that may be too wordy and qualified a statement to include. Control copyright icon Hello 82.38.157.176, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Nativity (film series) has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:06, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
