[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 12:06, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox titles

[edit]

Please do not insert POV into the titles of infoboxes, as you did at 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement. I do realise that the previous title was equally poor, btw. - Sitush (talk) 12:42, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Raghu Ram

[edit]

FYI your repeated deletion of the Indian Idol comments is ridiculuous. At first, I did not remember Raghu coming, but I clearly remembere there was a person who did stretching exercises and was rude and did a "gun" gesture after he was rejected. This was one of the standout auditions of the first season. Later, I saw a tape of the whole episode belonging to a friend. I suspect you are a chamcha of Raghu's. I will shortly upload the whole episode and request Wikipedia to ban you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JICKY999 (talkcontribs) 09:19, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well as I've already said I am neither of favoring of deleting or in posting this video detail, but the information is provided is ill cited an doesn't worth of mentioning on wikipedia.I've already watched video published by official channel and even they didn't mention that he was in audition.Well if want to update a page,go ahead, respect policies. And one last thing. Its second time you are threatening to blocking me,go ahead and read Wikipedia:Blocking policy first.--Sandy (talk) 10:30, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- @sandy: whatver. @abhishek: "I've already watched video published by official channel and even they didn't mention that he was in audition " WTF? Why will the channel mention Raghu auditioned if he was nto famous at the time? Someone has dug out old footage of an incident that happened when raghu was not there. I remember the incident vividly and can provide links to old orkut groups where people discuss about a rude contestant to did stretching exercises and pointed a gun at the judges. Nobody remembered the guy's face coz he was a loser and it happened a long time ago. Turns out the guy was Raghu. And bt pal, maybe you should watch this. So many computer special effects wizards faking footage, eh??

Hello Abhishekitmbm, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Chai Garam to a proposed deletion tag. Man tiwari (talk) 12:45, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on First Post(India) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Guillaume2303 (talk) 07:49, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I re-undid your additions. While your additional sources was helpful, the citations need to be inline the paragraph. See WP:INCITE for more information on that.

That said, I do appreciate you taking the time to work on this article, especially given the sensitivity of the topic. Legoktm (talk) 10:23, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of content from Manish Tewari

[edit]

You deleted perfectly appropriate content with the following edit summary:

Please read/contribute on talk page before keep on adding same thing

Read what, exactly? The article on criticism linked by Sandy that has nothing whatsoever to do with the content on controversy that you removed? Content, I should note, which is not criticism: it is a factual recounting of the controversy surrounding this very public figure, just as many biographies and other similar articles have similar sections. Controversy is not criticism, and there is nothing on this talk page that has anything to do with the controversy being cited that you deleted. Also I didn't add the content, I merely cleaned it up, removing that which was not appropriate, fixed formatting, verified the content sources, and added references where needed. Suggestion: try doing some reading yourself, such as the article edit history, and of the content you are removing, before suggesting others do so. Please read WP:EW, and WP:BLP, particularly the section WP:WELLKNOWN, which states,

In the case of public figures, there will be a multitude of reliable published sources, and BLPs should simply document what these sources say. If an allegation or incident is noteworthy, relevant, and well-documented, it belongs in the article — even if it is negative and the subject dislikes all mention of it. If you cannot find multiple reliable third-party sources documenting the allegation or incident, leave it out.
  • Example: "John Doe had a messy divorce from Jane Doe." Is this important to the article, and was it published by third-party reliable sources? If not, leave it out, or stick to the facts: "John Doe and Jane Doe were divorced."
  • Example: A politician is alleged to have had an affair. He or she denies it, but multiple major newspapers publish the allegations, and there is a public scandal. The allegation belongs in the biography, citing those sources. However, it should only state that the politician was alleged to have had the affair, not that he actually did.

Per the above guideline, I am undoing your deletion: the content in question is reliably sourced, factual, and relevant, and there was no justification for removing it, as it fits within policy. Please do not remove it again without providing evidence of strong consensus against it from multiple unbiased editors and an admin, and be sure to cite the relevant Wikipedia policies you are adhering to that justify deleting such content. If you feel you can improve it, then Be Bold and do so, but that does not include removing valid, properly sourced, and relevant material. besiegedtalk 21:45, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Article Name Change

[edit]

Hi.

I got your details through Wikipedia's list of active Asian editors, and since you are online, I am reaching out to you as a new Wikipedia member (and not user). I made an account to edit a particular page, but I realised that only auto confirmed users can change the title of the page, using the 'Move' tab. Since I do not have the privilege to do that, I was hoping you would.

My issue is with a particular page titled 'Gorakshanath' which should actually be named, 'Gorakhnath'. Understandably, this is a sinister political shenanigan that is an attempt to impose the right-wing ideology of go-raksha (cow protection) down our throats. Please change the name at the earliest, if you can. It is a serious issue. This is how it starts!

Thanks. Prateek
