[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Value-Added-Tax-free imports from the Channel Islands do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Fin©™ 09:27, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Technically they weren't external links, but the principle is the same. Thanks! Fin©™ 09:28, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Tax-free trade
[edit]Hello. The point of the article, of course, is not to demonstrate who's right or wrong about the trade, but to give an encyclopaedic overview of the facts and issues. If I'm editing properly, no-one should be able to be sure whether I support tax-exempt imports or not :-) Man vyi (talk) 14:03, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
I agree but this is slightly more complex. You can support LVCR but oppose the abuse of it. The article needs to reflect that. LVCR gets confused in that people assume its there for this trade when even a casual read of the legislation will reveal that is not the case.Bigbrothersback (talk) 14:52, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
I have added in a few more points of factual clarification to try and clear the fog somewhat.... Bigbrothersback (talk) 15:34, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi Qwyrxian Sorry haven't been back to this article for a while. In further response to Man vyi I would never attempt to argue against tax exempt imports or deny that this entry should only give the facts , but that was never the issue that was controversial here. Much of what was speculation on the LVCR page is now turning into fact as the EU make it clear that the Channel Islands use of LVCR is an illegal abuse of a tax relief as distinct from a genuine tax exempt import.Whilst some have argued that's an 'opinion' its an opinion that was always based upon the facts of the legislation. However because the EU hasn't tackled the illegal use of LVCR and the law is complex, its not been possible to easily reference that 'fact' and establish it's not just an opinion. This has been the main problem with this page as some users have decided that what's illegal is a legitimate practice just because it hasn't been stopped. That position has tainted every part of the LVCR entry and highlights a weakness in Wikipedia, which appears to assume something cannot be deemed illegal even if it clearly breaches a piece of legislation. For example if I see a car travelling at 100 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone then according to the rules operated on the LVCR entry if I say that's breaking the law then I am expressing an 'opinion' because the person breaking the law hasn't been caught. As a result of this perspective by those who are carrying on the illegal activity of abusing LVCR have had undue influence over the LVCR article. Just read the history and see some of the nonsense that's been posted on this entry in the past and you will see.All of these pro-CI LVCR abuse comments have been posted by those with a vested interest in the ongoing illegal activity. The guy breaking the speed limit was coming up with all kinds of rubbish to justify his illegal activity.
How can I be so sure of this ? Well I am party to information that I can't make public. Once that information is in the public domain (i.e a fact in Wikipedia terms) then with proper references I'll go through and alter this article as it will all then be just a case of stating those public facts. What's coming out of the EU shortly will remove all of the controversy from this entry which as you know has been a battlefield of opinion for the last few years!
The article will then be discussing LVCR and The Channel Islands in terms of a practice that has been abolished, which will shrink the articles size and importance considerably removing any debate altogether! That should make putting together a sensible entry much easier. Thanks for your patience. Regards Bigbrothersback (talk) 11:24, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Modern Romance (band), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nub (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
