[edit]Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' AfD nomination of List of teen dramas
[edit]I have nominated List of teen dramas, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of teen dramas. Edit Summary
[edit]Please note that you need to detail each edit you make in the edit summary box. You have continued to mark edits as minor even though they are not minor, and even though you have been instructed otherwise numerous times. Please cease doing so, and review what a minor edit is. Thank you very much in advance for your cooperation. Softlavender (talk) 10:09, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:PB Coca.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:PB Coca.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Soundvisions1 (talk) 05:13, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of List of Easter television specials
[edit]A tag has been placed on List of Easter television specials requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. RadioFan (talk) 15:22, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of List of Easter television specials
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Easter television specials, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- more red than blue links, unmaintainable list, zero references, original research
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hello, I appreciate the time you put into adding periods to this list. Unfortunately, periods don't go at end of incomplete sentences. Also, I reverted the addition of List of United Kingdom criminals to the "See also" section because it has only a loose connection to the page topic. Best regards, momoricks 22:06, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:519jVE0KE3L_SS500_.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:519jVE0KE3L_SS500_.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? feydey (talk) 13:19, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
File:LawAndOrderS6.jpg
[edit]I have tagged File:LawAndOrderS6.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. feydey (talk) 13:19, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Chris Fenwick
[edit]The article Chris Fenwick has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Very minor character. Appeared only in a few episodes in a long-running soap.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Magioladitis (talk) 08:11, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, myself and User:Raintheone have decided to consider a creation of a Wikiproject for Hollyoaks, mainly to improve articles to a higher standard. I just thought I would ask if you would consider joining, if you don't that's fine but I just thought I would ask. If you do decide to, then please add your username to the 'support' section on Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Hollyoaks. Thanks :) Whoniverse93 talk? 15:02, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Abi Raven.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Abi Raven.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:20, 24 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. W93 (talk) 20:20, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Hollyoaks Community College
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Hollyoaks Community College. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hollyoaks Community College. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:15, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Redfarmer (talk) 14:50, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
The article The Edlington Attempted Murders has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Article is about a non-notable news event. See WP:NOTNEWS.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Parent5446 ☯ (message email) 04:00, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of The Edlington Attempted Murders
[edit]I have nominated The Edlington Attempted Murders, an article that you created, for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead.
Using detailed edit summaries is the best way to ensure that your good faith edits are not reverted by recent changes patrollers or other wikieditors. Thanks and happy editing! — SpikeToronto 20:05, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi DanDud88,
Unfortunately (and I am really honestly sad to say) that I have had to revert your edits on SVU characters, because you have made it a bit too complex, there were too many links, repeated characters etc. I am so sorry, but others have agreed that your edit was too difficult.
I'm sorry, MelbourneStar☆ (talk) 09:05, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Removal of Content
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from List of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit characters. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. DanDud88, with respects to you, obviously, I just would like to tell you, Law & Order: UK is not part of the Law & Order (franchise). Personally I wish it was, it would make the L&O universe much bigger. But reality is, it's not. Law & Order UK is in the same boat as:
...Which are both foreign adaptions too. Thank You. If there is anything you would like to discuss, please discuss on my talk page, I will be glad to respond. -- MelbourneStar☆ (talk to me) 12:49, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
File source problem with File:WarrenFox.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:WarrenFox.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 04:55, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

LOUK
[edit]I suppose one could argue the split might be appropriate. But it is a British programme and the proper terminology would be Law & Order: UK (series 1). Especially with this show. ITV commissioned them in 13 episode seasons which they then broadcast as 6 & 7 episode series. Citytv and BBC America showed them as their commissioned 13 episode seasons. If you want them as you have them they should be "series" (see Category:Britain's Got Talent or Category:Doctor Who series); if you want to call the articles "season" then you would need to combine what you have as 1 & 2, 3 & 4, and 5 & 6 into 1, 2, 3, and the forthcoming eight episodes as season 4. And maybe also not use such bright and unrelated colours too. And yes i know my signature is pink but that is one colour to the 5 you used in the episode list. delirious & lost ☯ ~hugs~ 01:51, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

Plagiarism/Copyright issues on List of POI characters
[edit]DanDud, you have a significant plagiarism problem to address in the article List of Person of Interest characters. You've lifted your content word-for-word from the Pedia of Interest Wikia, aside from a little taken from the main article, then sourced (without formatting) to the original articles. Wikia content is available under the guidelines of CC-by-SA, but absent any proper attribution, you have represented the content as your own original writing, and that is plagiarism. Please see Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Sources under copyleft for guidelines how to address the issue. I've tagged the article to alert other editors to the issue. If you need assistance, see the template talk page, or Moonriddengirl is an expert on copyright issues. This needs immediate attention. --Drmargi (talk) 19:17, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- I thought all pedias were connected. DanDud88
- They're connected at the corporate level. Copyright and licensing of content are different things. Regardless, you signed your name to that material, minus any attribution to Wikia, and that's plagiarism. You have to fix it. --Drmargi (talk) 21:12, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
I've left the article alone for a week now, and you've taken no action to fix the massive plagiarism. I'm interpreting that is your consent to remove or modify the plagiarized content as needed. --Drmargi (talk) 18:16, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

POI split (aka unholy mess)
[edit]Dan, please, please do not attempt to split an episode article into season articles until you a) have consensus to do so and b) know what you're doing. You must have seen that your last attempt to split List of Person of Interest episodes into season articles left a series of problems behind. Worse, instead of getting help or trying to fix them, you simply gave up mid split and left the mess for another editor to clean up, just as you left the plagiarism mess discussed above for other editors to fix. That is simply not suitable editor behavior, and can lead to your being blocked; it's got me questioning your competence as an editor.
I've reverted the whole mess and restored the season article redirects. Before you attempt another split, you should:
- Gain consensus for a split (this has been discussed repeatedly, and thus far there is none)
- Learn the parameters for the splitting articles, beginning with WP:SIZERULE
- Work with an experienced editor to learn how to do a correct split.
- Populate the split article with original content, not more material plagiarized from the Pedia of Interest.
Concentrate on learning how to do basic edits and the policies behind them before you undertake anything this complex again, particularly given the blind eye you tend to turn to the messes you leave behind. Editing such as this is highly disruptive. --Drmargi (talk) 12:39, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

TemplateData is here
[edit]Hey DanDud88
I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).
So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.
What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.
The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.
