[edit]

Hi Borg, thanks for your edits to the {{Boroughs of Hamburg}}, I have not installed all links, because at time I created this template there were much more redlinks. Have you compared them to the list at Boroughs and quarters of Hamburg? For your move request, I will support it, after Los Angeles is no longer Los Angeles, California (what a comparison!). And may I bold advertise the brand-new Hamburg portal? Cheers Sebastian scha. (talk) 15:26, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I like a complete alphabetical list better. But as long as all quarters are mentioned in one template its okay for me. Another question: How shall I name an article about the Speicherstadt in Hamburg (de:Speicherstadt), simply Speicherstadt (there is a Speicherstadt in Münster too) or translated Warehouse district, Hamburg (as there is a so-called warehouse district in Cleveland)? Literally translated it would be Warehouse City, but IMHO this is no option. Hoping for input Sebastian scha. (talk) 16:06, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I will name it simply Speicherstadt. Another small point: {{stub}} templates should be placed after the categories. Sebastian scha. (talk) 16:49, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rail transport barnstar / Torino Porta Susa railway station

[edit]

Thanks for the Rail transport barnstar. It's good to know that my editing work is appreciated.

In response to your comments about Torino Porta Susa railway station:

Both it.wikipedia and wikimedia commons have separate pages about the old and new stations, respectively. See it:Stazione di Torino Porta Susa, it:Stazione di Torino Porta Susa sotterranea, commons:Category:Torino Porta Susa train station (old) and commons:Category:Torino Porta Susa train station. Based on my reading of the it.wikipedia articles and Google maps, it seems that the new underground station is several blocks to the south west of the old above ground station. It also seems that when all the construction work has been completed, the two stations will share little, if anything, other than their names.

I therefore think that en.wikipedia should have two articles, one about the old station, and one about the new one. However, I would suggest that:

  • a new article about the new station be translated from the it.wikipedia sotteranea article, but given the present name of the present en.wikipedia article about the old station (ie Torino Porta Susa railway station).

[edit]

I think the merger is more suited the other way around. Kingjeff (talk) 01:00, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's better to merge from Berlin population statistics to Demographics of Berlin. There is more flexibility Demographics of Berlin. Anyways, in the future, both articles may exist if Demographics of Berlin becomes big enough. Prose is very limited with Berlin population statistics. Duplicate submissions

[edit]

For AfCs, the article level CSD Speedy criteria do not apply. If it just duplicated an existing article, simply reject it on those grounds. If there are duplicate submissions, use G6, technical deletion on all but the principle one -- normally the one with the fullest content or most appropriate title. This avoids confusion. Articles

[edit]

Sorry my poor English, I'm Uruguayan. I'm sorry, I did not realize that already existed. However, the name used in the pages of recent Uruguayan championships is adding "season" at the end, as I did in the pages. For this reason and because they contain more information than the existing items, ask you to redirigan I created if you do not mind and if you share my opinion. --Laln93 (talk) 00:40, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I asked in Uruguayan Primera División why after 2007 it began to add "season" in the name of each Uruguayan championship. You agree If I proceed to combine the information between existing pages and those pages that I created, keeping the oldest page? I watched other pages from other leagues and there is no case in which is put in the articles name "season". --Laln93 (talk) 01:58, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I inadvertently wrote the titles of the tables in Spanish, sometimes I can be a bit distracted.

Hello, I'm going to use another tactic, this time I placed a template of "possible copyright violation", that gives the user some time to fix that copy/paste stuff. I see he's learning to add format to the articles, I don't want to completely discourage him. I hope he understands this time or ask for help to me or to other users, to get rid of that red bar template. Let's hope he prefers to correct that article before creating a new copyvio. Saludos :) --UAwiki (talk) 22:31, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Impersonation accounts

[edit]

Hi DerBorg! I saw your edit to AIV and your IRC messages, and just wanted to thank you for noticing and reporting this account. As for your concerns that it might be a legitimate alternative account of mine, it was not. Any time I do register an alt account, I immediately identify it by making an edit from my main account (see this for example) so that there's no question of whether it's mine. That said, I don't foresee needing more alternate accounts soon, so any more accounts like this are pretty much guaranteed to be malicious. GorillaWarfare (talk) 19:20, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Buenos Aires Underground templates

[edit]

Hi! I need a bit of help with a couple of templates for the Buenos Aires Underground if that's ok, since I don't have much experience on Wikipedia and especially not with templates and fma12 suggested that you would be a good person to ask. These are the two problems

  • Template:Line D (BA) is upside-down (the only template which is like this). Every time I have tried to reverse the position of the stations, I have broken the template so it just displays the raw HTML text.
  • The other is related to Category:Buenos Aires Underground succession templates - the templates found inside the infoboxes for line stations (like this one), but I don't know where to change the main name from. The name inside the template should say "Buenos Aires Underground" (or simply "Subte" if that's too long) instead of "Buenos Aires Metro" and should have a small Subte icon (with a link) such as in this template.

I'm getting near the end of standardising and laying the groundwork for all the Underground articles, but if you come across anything which you think I should improve (that isn't on my to-do list) then let me know :) SegataSanshiro1 (talk) 21:38, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done. The answer could be found here. :) ... well... --Dэя-Бøяg 00:00, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think a final warning was rather WP:BITEy - I don't know what this newbie was trying to do, and I don't think he does, but he wasn't trying to vandalise. JohnCD (talk) 18:06, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Uhm, you are right, this time I was too hasty, and I had to assume good fait. So, I changed wn from level 4 to level 1 with a brief explaination of what's wrong with that edits. Maybe user really confused WP with a space for (cryptic) private messages to to people who understand what he's talking about. Anyway, I'll watch. --Dэя-Бøяg 18:15, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Overview sections

[edit]

...are generally superfluous as the lead is functioning as the overview/summary. Often, a more exact heading will more accurately reflect the content of the section. For instance, the Matameye is too short to have a section anyway, but the material is about population movements anyway, so that would be a more accurate header. cheers, Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 23:04, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for notice it, really, because it is important for me to improve my abilty to contribute to the Encyclopedia, also learning from my mistakes. Actually, in the case of Matameye, that division was redundant: my bad, sorry... Helping the division into sections of an article, sometimes I'm able to divide the different arguments into specific sections, but sometimes is hard to find a specific title. Btw, in further cases, I'll find a most exact section title. Regards. --Dэя-Бøяg 11:32, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:45, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page mover granted

[edit]

Hello, DerBorg. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

A tag has been placed on File:Endhiran poster July 2010.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. In Sagua la Chica you made it a redirect to Camajuaní. I’m wondering if I can change it into a real Wikipedia page about the town of Sagua La Chica in Camajuani? CubanoBoi (talk) 20:08, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Railway stations in Laos indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
