Engineering glossary
[edit]If you split glossary, make absolutely sure you maintain page's history including revisions, page creator, etc. See glossary talk page. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.77.192.155 (talk)
Article splitting activism
[edit]Hi, just some advice. You seem to be have gotten twisted up in some activists who go around trying to split articles everywhere. However that's generally not appreciated by many people who actually contribute to those articles and usually requires specialized knowledge to know when, where, and how to split a topic. Your recent split of glossary of engineering was pushed by those activists and I note you have no history of editing that page (nor that I do either). It should not have been split as it greatly reduces the usefulness of the page. Additionally your split caused numerous intra-article links to be broken (namely where an article links to other parts of it's own article). I am personally in favor of reverting your split, but this is difficult as a new page was created where the old page was. Ergzay (talk) 17:44, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Reply to your comment on my talk page
[edit]I didn’t explain, but I basically wanted there to be a page with every U.S. senator, which there currently isn’t. Many times I do use a summary, but I didn’t here and for that I apologize. I hope that explains my actions, and if you're interested, perhaps we can work on that together. :D — Preceding unsigned comment added by PoliticallyPassionateGamer (talk • contribs) 22:32, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Firstly, sorry about that. I didn't realize your intentions.
- Secondly, in general don't blank or remove a significant amount of content from pages without explaining why in an edit summary.
- Thirdly, before you create such a page, I recommend that consulting with a relevant WikiProject, like WikiProject U.S. Congress; the people there may have a better idea of what does and doesn't deserve its own article than I do. Ji11720 (talk) 22:41, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I can do better than that. I'm glad that you've consulted me towards them, I had no idea tbh PoliticallyPassionateGamer (talk) 00:40, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
Hi, could you undo the Charlie Powell (presenter) deletion please? I would still like to work on it. Regards, Steve. Spifflepoos (talk) 11:20, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- I can't undo the deletion for you. You'll either need to ask Wikipedia:Deletion review or recreate it yourself.
- As a side note, if you do recreate it, I'd suggest creating it in draftspace and submitting it through AfC, so you can get the feedback of more experienced editors. Ji11720 (talk) 12:47, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- Correction: You can actually get it undeleted. Just go file a request at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion/G13. Ji11720 (talk) 12:52, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Tol (talk | contribs) @ 19:18, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Note about archiving
[edit]Thanks for adding archiving to pages. Just so you are aware, you need to be careful when archiving pages using a quick template. For example, in your recent archiving of Joseph's Tomb, ive noticed you used {{subst:FULLPAGENAME}}
(or similar), which isnt perfect, and actually returns Talk:Joseph's Tomb
in this case. Essentially, if a page's title has punctuation, make sure to double-check the archiving worked. Other than that, you're all fine. Thanks! (Found via this category) Aidan9382 (talk) 17:59, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for telling me. I'll keep an eye out in the future. ji11720 (talk) 18:17, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Ji11720,
I just wanted to thank you for your help tagging the expiring drafts today. We have three admins who usually take care of them, me, Explicit and Hey man im josh. Now, Hey man im josh doesn't edit on the weekends, Explicit has been away for days now and I'm staying with my mother who is on hospice care so I spend much of my time helping her out. Plus, there was a big AFC backlog drive in November 2023 so there are many more drafts facing CSD G13 than in a typical month. There are usually about ~150 expiring drafts/day and on May 1st we had over 400 drafts! And since May 1st it's been regularly over 200 drafts. So, the work has been piling up and thanks to you, I think we are all caught up!
The only thing Josh and I are sticklers for are a) checking the page history to make sure there have been no recent edits to the page and b) posting a talk pag notification to content creators to tell them that their draft has been deleted and how they can get it restored. It looks like you have been doing that notification with Twinkle so thanks for that, too. Your help on the project is appreciated! Have a good week. Liz Read! Talk! 03:33, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
