Disambiguation link notification for October 9
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Nicholas Yaw Boafo Adade, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Fourth Republic and Konongo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:14, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
I unfortunately had to remove some content because it violated copyright (see WP:COPYVIO for more information). Additionally, please avoid stacking citations at the ends of paragraphs, as this makes it difficult for readers to determine which source corresponds to which claim. Instead, place citations at the ends of sentences to which they apply directly.

Replaceable fair use File:Ebenezer Sekyi Hughes.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Ebenezer Sekyi Hughes.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Passengerpigeon (talk) 02:11, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for the information, the image has been duly taken down. Kinvidia (talk) 08:47, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Football squad of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Football squad of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 11:20, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for the heads up AaqibAnjum, her term in parliament actually begins in 1999 after the by-election but her term in parliament ended in 2009 and this is because, even though elections were held in December 2008, MPs who were elected then were sworn into office on 7 January 2009 as required by the constitution. She however, legally remained an MP after 2008 until her successor was sworn into office on 7 January 2009.Kinvidia (talk) 23:53, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

List of MPs elected in the 1992 Ghanaian parliamentary election
[edit]Hello Kinvidia, thanks for your edits on List of MPs elected in the 1992 Ghanaian parliamentary election. Are you sure you have the correct information as they differ from the names I had from the website of the Electoral Commission of Ghana. I know the link for the 1992 resulsts are dead but I still have the downloaded Excel file from the Electoral Commission and they do not have some of the names you have added recently.--Natsubee (talk) 12:51, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Natsubee thanks for having the time to go through the edits. The edits I made was based on information I got from the 1992 parliamentary register I received from the Ghana Parliament Library. I could email you some pictures (especially for those you find to be different from what you have) if you don't mind. Kind regards. Kinvidia (talk) 23:00, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Kinvidia, I will appreaciate the email.--Natsubee (talk) 15:40, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Great, please send me your email and the constituencies of the MPs that you find different from what you have. Kinvidia (talk) 16:00, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
The article Ghana High Commission in Freetown has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
High Commissions and embassies are not generally notable, and there is no evidence that this one is. Lack of reliable independent sources to support the topic.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mccapra (talk) 09:52, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Daniel Afedzi Akyeampong
[edit]Hello Kinvidia,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Daniel Afedzi Akyeampong for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

However, I can see a page has been created for him already and I think it looks great. Kind regards. Kinvidia (talk) 21:38, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Couple of points
[edit]Hi, thanks for your work on Ghanian politicians. Please don't write "educationist" when you really mean "teacher". Same for "agriculturalist" rather than "farmer", which I see in Indian-politics articles far too often. And you might consider not boosting with "served as", instead of plain "was ... the minister for whatever". They're politicians: we all know they serve themselves, not us. Tony (talk) 04:42, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for the points Tony1. I really appreciate it and I will try to make the corrections in subsequent edits. However, let's agree to disagree here; the notion that politicians serve their personal interests may not apply to every politician. Kinvidia (talk) 22:08, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- The mechanics of human power are explained in The Dictators' Handbook (2011), a paperback. They say that if you rise to a position of power with totally good intentions, you won't last long. It's a compelling argument. Tony (talk) 01:27, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Thats an interesting take, this sounds like a book I'd want to have a look at. Kinvidia (talk) 11:46, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Edwin Alfred Provencal moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Edwin Alfred Provencal, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hatchens (talk) 16:24, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello Hatchens, thank you for reviewing the page Edwin Alfred Provencal. I really want to know why you think the references I used were not reliable and independent? The links are frequently used as references for Ghanaian pages and they are trusted sources of information in Ghana. I'm not quite sure why you will draw such a conclusion. I will be very happy if you could explain more. I have created many Ghanaian pages and used these sources as references and I have never had such an issue with a reviewer. I will be happy to explain more if there is an issue you want to be clear on. Thanks. Kinvidia (talk) 18:28, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- Kinvidia, At the current state, its looks like a resume WP:NOTRESUME. Besides, one shouldn't compare one article with another as there would be always a variation in acceptance. Kindly redraft the text and submit it for review. - Hatchens (talk) 03:34, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your response Hatchens, can you please help me to redraft the text? What do you think I can or should change about the page. Kind regards Kinvidia (talk) 09:37, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
