DYK for Bruce T. Halle Library
[edit]On 1 July 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Bruce T. Halle Library, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that though located on the Eastern Michigan University campus, the Bruce T. Halle Library houses one of the largest collections of children's literature in the US? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Old EMU photos
[edit]If you're interested in some old photos of Eastern Michigan University, I've got a bunch of PD-old images linked from my Commons user page, commons:User:Cmadler. Some day I'll get around to adding them on Commons, but if you want to do them, feel free (and just mark them off my user page and/or give me links to the Commons files). Thanks, cmadler (talk) 18:38, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
DYK nomination of History of Baldwin–Wallace College
[edit]Hello! Your submission of History of Baldwin–Wallace College at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Ishtar456 (talk) 21:05, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I reviewed the two new ALTs and I have some questions about ALT4, but I thought that before I go into all that... do you have another one in mind? The link to the article does not have to be in the beginning on the hook, and it can even be re-wording as in Alt 3 and 4. Just let me know what you want to do and I will see it through.--Ishtar456 (talk) 21:05, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- I hate to tell you this, but I came up with another ALT that I like and I think that you will like it too.--Ishtar456 (talk) 22:16, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

EMU: Sherzer Hall v Sherzer Observatory
[edit]They're two different things. Sherzer Hall is the building (a classroom building), while Sherzer Observatory is the observatory which was originally on Pierce Hall and is now on top of Sherzer Hall. I mention this because your recent edits to the Sherzer Observatory article ([1]) seem to conflate the two. cmadler (talk) 23:40, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- correct, they are two different things but the observatory is on top of the building itself so it's one building. So it would make sense to talk about the building right? Pwojdacz (talk) 00:54, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe the article shoud be renamed as "Sherzer Hall". Since the observatory is part of the building, but the building is not part of the observatory, it would make more sense to have an article on Sherzer Hall that includes content about the observatory than what we have now? cmadler (talk) 13:53, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- I agree, I am going to see if there is any research on consensus on this on infobox building vs infobox observatory, both are valuable for notability and I would hate for the page to lose the observatory piece. Pwojdacz (talk) 17:15, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe the article should be "Sherzer Hall" with infobox building at the top. Then it would have a section called "Sherzer Observatory" that has infobox observatory in it. cmadler (talk) 17:49, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

NRHP Infoboxes
[edit]Hey after your comment at Template talk:Infobox NRHP, I looked at Sherzer Hall as well as a few other articles you've edited. It appears as if you are using the Michigan HSO identification number for the |refnum=
parameter in the NRHP infobox. This parameter is reserved especially for the NRIS reference number given in the NPS Focus database (more information here). It also appears that you are using several different fields incorrectly. I just edited Eastern Michigan University Historic District to fix the infobox, and I will fix Sherzer Hall in a minute. Maybe it would be helpful to look over the documentation of the NRHP infobox to better understand what exactly its parameters are used for. There is no need to copy in 927349839048 blank parameters.. just use the ones you need. There is actually a tool located here that can be used to search for any site listed on the NRHP, which will return a pre-fabricated (though incomplete) NRHP infobox you can use as a starting point in an article. If you have any more questions about NRHP listings, feel free to browse the NRHP project's style guide or respond here. Thank you for your contributions!--Dudemanfellabra (talk) 01:13, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

- To other editors – I have *again* placed a single strike-through Pwojadcz's above post for the reason I stated above. To Pwojdadcz – let me clarify. My previous post was not intended for you, but for any other editors who join this discussion. Ignoring the issue (personal attacks) and, curiously, copying non-relevant talk of mine from a completely different discussion on my talk page is disruptive nonsense and only reinforces the perception that you are unwilling to cooperate. Levdr1lp (talk) 16:30, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- The reason I keep removing the strike through: Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines: "Never edit or move someone's comment to change its meaning, even on your own talk page. Striking text constitutes a change in meaning, and should only be done by the user who wrote it or someone acting at their explicit request." .... this includes your accusation of a "personal attack". So again, please follow standard talk page guidelines. WP:TALK. Please feel free to quote me if you deem necessary but editing my comment(s) is not welcomed. Pwojdacz (talk) 01:04, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Not only did you ignore my message, but you copied text verbatim from my own talk page from a discussion you were never a part of that occurred weeks ago that has no relevance here. Per WP:TALKNO, which notes editors "generally" should not alter others' comments, the talk page guidelines explicitly state, "Do not misrepresent other people." Copying text from a non-relevant discussion you were never part of from my own talk page clearly violates that. I've added the strike-through line a *third* time to indicate that this is my own text, not yours. Remove it again, and I'm contacting the nearest administrator. - You're right in that, *technically*, this post is yours. You added that text. But you also copied that very same text from one of my post's on my talk page. Personally, I find that disruptive, but I suppose adding a strike-through line to one of your edits — no matter how disruptive — probably won't solve anything either and probably does not conform to WP policy/guidelines. That said, you attacked me. A *mild* attack, but still an attack per WP:NPA#WHATIS. Later you repeatedly ignored my attempts to address the issue. Levdr1lp (talk) 16:21, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

I have some serious doubts
[edit]that R S Gerganoff was the architect of Walton Phelps Sellers and Whatever. When I click on the reference given I can not get there. I have no problem being wring, if it can be referenced. I;m not saying it was your doing, it just seems that you might be in a position of confirm or deny this rumor I am starting. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 01:07, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Well I certainly have had my differences with EMU in the past, but am willing to accept their web site regarding Gerganoff. Thanks for the speedy and informative reply. Carptrash (talk) 01:51, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- On the other hand, does it seem likely that in 1966 a 79 year old architect would design buildings built in 1966 and 1968 and then die that same year (1966)? Any thing is possible, but . . . . .......... Gerganoff had done no work at EMU for a decade while Swanson & Co. had more or less taken over his place as the EMU house architects. So why go back to an old guy like RS? I'm 1,500 miles away (give or take) but I need more answers. Not that I don't trust you and certainly your references check out, but I have an uncomfortable feeling about this. Carptrash (talk) 02:10, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
For example, go to this page http://www.emich.edu/library/about/archives/campusbuilding.php?building_id=24 and look at the photo of Jones/Goddard. Does it look okay to you? If you want to ask, "Am I my EMU's keeper?" please go ahead. I have no one else to discuss this sort of thing with, but perhaps discussing it with no one is better than badgering you? Your call. Carptrash (talk) 02:17, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- I think you make some really good points. I do think when someone designs a building it can be years before it's built or breaks ground. It's possible because he designed so many buildings EMU wanted to continue to work with him into his old age. Let me check if there are any other sources to verify, I was surprised to see how many buildings he designed. On another note, I welcome chatting about EMU pages. I've been the only person really creating/expanding the articles so it would be nice to have some others join in. The photo for photo of Jones/Goddard did not show up at that link, do you have any other links to the image? Jones, Goddard, Brown, Munson, King and Goodison Hall are all the same design in the building because they were built in the same style. The buildings were shaped like giant "U" shapes facing each other. I only know this because I went to grad school there. Pwojdacz (talk) 02:52, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
I was wondering if you were in Ypsilanti. I first got there as an undergrad in 1968 and have done a lot of Gerganoff research. I think that the wikipedia article on him is mostly mine. I interviewed his nephew Zack who told me that RS was sort of pissed of at EMU because they took one design and then basically repeated it, but didn't pay him very well for the repetitions. They might have done something similar with those other four. The link I sent you, which works on my computer, was to the EMU site http://www.emich.edu/library/about/archives/campusbuilding.php?building_id=24 for Goddard and the caption of the photo is I think "Goddard/Jones", but the pictures is of the three towers. Someday I'll write how my grad days there ended, but not today. Carptrash (talk) 14:23, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

We noticed though that when you edited Crabbie's, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Woolworths Liquor and BWS (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Proposed deletion of List of KoreAm Journal front covers
[edit]The article List of KoreAm Journal front covers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — ξxplicit 12:12, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
