Information icon Hello, I'm Ravensfire. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on List of Bigg Boss (Hindi TV series) controversies, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Ravensfire (talk) 19:45, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm C1K98V. I noticed that you recently removed content from Surbhi Jyoti without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Resham Tipnis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Women's Day. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:53, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Veena Jagtap requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. An article you recently created, Maharashtrachi Hasya Jatra, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Control copyright icon Hello Wefffrrr, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 21:08, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Wefffrrr:, please don't uploaded images with false information. You're claiming "own work" for images, when the only work you did is take a screenshot and upload them here. That's NOT "own work", that's copyright infringement. That's being deceptive on your part, you're trying to take credit for someone else's work. You also picked a license that almost certainly is wrong. Again, since you aren't the rights holder of the image, you're putting something into an open license that you don't control. STOP. Continuing to do this is a REALLY good way to get blocked from editing. Okay? Ravensfire (talk) 21:08, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks for uploading File:MeghaDhade.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

A tag has been placed on File:MeghaDhade.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/television/bigg-boss-marathi-finale-live-updates-5270157/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Wefffrrr, this is pretty obviously a copyright infringement. And it's not your first. You CANNOT just upload anything you find online. Images on Facebook DO NOT have a compatible license. Same thing with Instagram and Twitter. Don't upload them here. You WILL end up blocked if you continue. STOP IT. Okay?
For the non-free images, please read WP:IMAGERES. A fair number of your images are way too big and need to be reduced in size. If you're not comfortable with reducing them in size yourself, you can tag them for a bot to handle it - you can see here where I did just that. Please don't rely on others to clean up after you, it's easy enough for you to do yourself. But seriously, NO MORE COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT! Ravensfire (talk) 23:38, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mahira Sharma moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Mahira Sharma, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shreya Bugde requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

Last warning re: reliable sources

[edit]

Hi there, numerous people have pointed you to our guidelines on reliable sources, so it's unclear why in these edits you are pointing to Pinterest of all things. If you can't figure out what constitutes a reliable source (i.e. mainstream sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy like mainstream news sites and similar), you are very quickly going to wind up blocked. This is your last warning about this. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:09, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

Hi there, re: these changes, while many of your changes were improvements, some were not, or some were just not well thought-through. You removed the erroneous bullet points from the |known_for= parameter, but you left the pointless carriage return, and didn't italicise the titles. In the Filmography section, you changed Movies to Films, which was constructive, but you changed "Plays" to "Drama", which is not constructive. Typically in a filmography we list the different media a person has worked in. That would typically be film, television, theatre. "Drama" is a genre, not a medium. You also deleted the period after "Ref.", making it "Ref", when in English we almost always use a period to indicate an abbreviation. See how the tables are formatted at WP:FILMOGRAPHY. It would be appreciated if you'd please keep this in mind moving forward. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:37, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Aayatya Gharat Gharoba has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable film, nothing found in a WP:BEFORE search to help it pass WP:NFILM.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello Wefffrrr. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Sayali Sanjeev (actress), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Wefffrrr. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Wefffrrr|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 14:31, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
