A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Mongolia v Myanmar (2022 FIFA World Cup qualification) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mongolia v Myanmar (2022 FIFA World Cup qualification) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

It may be good idea to not create any more football match articles until this AfD is concluded; general consensus is that individual matches are usually not notable unless they have been covered exceptionally in mainstream press (i.e. outside the sports sections). Such matches will include major cup finals or games which set statistical records. Black Kite (talk) 10:26, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cambodia national football team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lee Tae-hoon. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Joseph2302 was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Clear consensus at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Draft:United States v Colombia (1994 FIFA World Cup) that this is not a notable match. If it goes into mainspace, it'll get deleted like the other non-notable match articles at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mongolia v Myanmar (2022 FIFA World Cup qualification)

I noticed that some of the material in the articles you wrote was copied from other wikipedia articles. That's completely fine, but make sure to read Wikipedia:Copying within wikipedia. Information icon Hi ZaDoraemonzu! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Iran–Saudi Arabia proxy conflict that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Please do not use your account and an IP address to edit. Drmies (talk) 20:40, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (2nd request)

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from France national football team into Football in France. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 19:24, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Minor

[edit]

I see that you mark almost all your edits as minor, even when they most definitely are not. Please read WP:MINOR about when to mark and when not to mark edits as minor. --T*U (talk) 19:50, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are still marking most of your edits as minor. They are not! WP:MINOR states that Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. As an example, calling this edit minor is obviously against WP:MINOR. Calling this edit minor is bordering on plain disruption. --T*U (talk) 07:32, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Naturalized citizens of Iraq requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Notice

The article England–France football rivalry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable football rivalry. cites one reliable source whose other listings are somewhat dubious (it has Arsenal v Man Utd as the most intense English rivalry)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. US recognition of the Armenian Genocide

[edit]

The problem we are having is that even in the 2020 House and Senate resolutions, the US did not 'officially' recognize the AG. To do that, it would have to pass an Act, through both houses, signed by the President. That would write the recognition in stone. This has never happened. This is why I prefer 'formally' and 'recognized' and in 'official' statements, resolutions, submissions, etc. Do you agree with this form of words? Johncdraper (talk) 20:29, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I also dispute about how the US recognized the genocide. Up until 2019, the United States had not recognized genocide due to importance of its strategic relations with Turkey, in addition, only US-based organizations have acknowledged that genocide. Even now Trump's reaction reflects this problem. So I think it is clear to define an official recognition and unofficial one. The US only recognized it officially in 2019. Anyway, I think this is your choice of words, I don't see it a problem, just need to remember that only. ZaDoraemonzu (talk) 06:41, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to India national football team, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of international goals scored by Paulo Wanchope, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. As I've already explained to you, Transfermarkt is not considered a reliable source, and should not be cited in articles. Sir Sputnik (talk) 17:55, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Sir Sputnik and Drmies: I think I’ve gotten further than most with this editor... But I had to basically yell at them on multiple pages to even be acknowledged. That above average engagement climaxed with them declaring "I'll never revert what I did. Besides, I expand the page, and I realize the poor scope of this article, and so I want to change and move to what I found is perfect. I did not delete Han chauvinism, but it is better to become "Han nationalism" since Han chauvinist attitude has a tendency of following nationalist traits, and chauvinist attitude has never been far away given Chinese history. I won't revert and I stand protecting it!” [1] and abandoning the discussion. Unbelievable this was *after* I’d linked WP:BATTLEGROUND. Horse Eye's Back (talk) 18:28, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Top scorer lists, and copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Two things, one of which you've been told before and really must try to understand and comply with:

1. You probably weren't aware that consensus is that scorer lists for a country's national team players are (in general) only created for that country's top scorer. Carlo Costly isn't Honduras' top scorer, so I've redirected List of international goals scored by Carlo Costly to Carlo Costly#International goals, where the content came from.

2. This is important: We may not copy content from other Wikipedia articles, as you did to create List of international goals scored by Carlo Costly from Carlo Costly#International goals, without clearly showing where the content came from. Please read Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

Thank you for listening. Struway2 (talk) 10:28, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, neither Zidane is top scorer of French national team, too. ZaDoraemonzu (talk) 10:43, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not denying there have been exceptions in the past, generally for big-name players. Still not something we should be creating a separate article for, for every player with a good number of goals. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 10:49, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I certainly understand your concerns. Of course I am a football-mad fan. I do believe some players deserve better attention for their contributions to the national teams, though. So I think they should be recognized at the first place. ZaDoraemonzu (talk) 11:12, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

have seen the copyright law a bit. But I think it was extremely silly in the first place. I may have my violation there, but I believe I should contribute it for the good of Wikipedia only. Maybe I was an ignorant, I admit. But that doesn't mean I violated it. Moreover, I think that I have searched and tried for some best infos. I am wrong, yes; but I also have my righteous reasons. In the next time, I'll be definitely more cautious. Okay? I don't want to be ridiculed, but there is a lot of good infos, and I want to see it being uploaded there, too. You just can't ban me only because of my copyright mishandling, since most of these "accusations" aimed only on small and less concerned infos. Request reason:

I have seen the copyright law and I do admit I did a number of wrong edits. However his condemnation on me is not realistic because it aimed only on small and less concerned infos, I believe that my edits do not harm but only to protect what Wikipedia has valued and I also provide good infos for Wikipedia as well. Nonetheless, I apologize for a number of the messes I have edited before and I hope I will not repeat the same things again, but I still wish to defend the true values of my editings in case it is violated. ZaDoraemonzu (talk) 13:47, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Copyright is extremely serious because the presence of copyright-violating material on this website threatens the very existence of the project. I accept that you have good intentions, and fully believe that you can make positive contributions. But we need more than hoping that you won't repeat the same mistakes again. You need to make it very clear that you will never copy text to Wikiepdia from a copyrighted source again. signed, Rosguill talk 05:56, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

After reviewing the copyright law, I admitted I did a number of wrong edits. Following the number of controversial materials I have wrongly added, I believe that my actions were wrong. I wish if I have been on the same issues again, I'll be more careful before getting approval for the edit. ZaDoraemonzu (talk) 08:32, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Racism in China requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.dtic.mil/cgi-bin/GetTRDoc?Location=U2&doc=GetTRDoc.pdf&AD=ADA455923. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
