The Central District of Isfahan County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان اصفهان) is in Isfahan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Isfahan.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, the village of Qahjavarestan was elevated to the status of a city.[4] After the 2011 census, the city of Khvorasgan became District 15 of the city of Isfahan,[5] and the village of Ziar rose to city status.[6]

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 1,860,674 in 515,487 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 2,067,821 people in 625,829 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 2,130,970 inhabitants in 671,864 households.[2]
