Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Portuguese films of 2001, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Who Are You? (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Sailor Suit and Machine Gun (film), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.thefullwiki.org/Sailor_Suit_and_Machine_Gun.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Tragic Story with Happy Ending

[edit]

Hi great work on the animation! Just to let you know that I did blue link that other Pessoa film, Tragic Story with Happy Ending, with a stub article. It is also well known by its French title, so I've created a redirect, too. best, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:06, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm pretty sure that's what's implied in the cutline of the TAP Portugal in-flight magazine story, which is the first ref: "Did you know that the most famous Portuguese film ever is an animation and has won dozens of prizes on every continent?" But it's so vaguely worded, it doesn't exactly verify that claim, does it? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:25, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm sure we can find a way to work in that statement. Is it from a major publication? At the very least, we could preface it with something like "In an interview with [name of publication]], Abi Feijó, Pessoa's producer, states that the film has won more awards..." Japanese films

[edit]

Hi I see you're interested in Japanese cinema. A problem we have with the current lists though is that they're biased towards either pink or manga or horror films. There's a distinct shortish of coverage of drama, comedy etc. I've added year links from 1950 to 70s, I was wondering if you could add a few general films to each year list like List of Japanese films of 1950 adding more films from imdb which are not pink or manga. It's good that those are listed, yes, but it would be nice to have more of a balance :-) There's some quite notable films missing from the lists. The 50s and early 60s aren't too bad, but from mid 60s onwards they're dominated by pink films and manga/anime especially since the 80s. No rush of course, I'll try to help out when I can.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:51, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Super super super short articles

[edit]

Hi there! When you're making music articles like Tree (Sekai no Owari album), would you be able to add more information to them? In their current form all you've done is established the topic's notability, but added no real information at all on the topics, to the point where it's unnecessary to have the article (i.e. there's nothing in Tree (Sekai no Owari album) that couldn't be in the Sekai no Owari article). Each article should have enough content to justify its existence. --Prosperosity (talk) 06:08, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I can add the track lists, but I can't do much more than that because my knowledge of Japanese is very limited and the only reliable English-language source I know that covers Japanese music is tokyohive.--Cattus talk 11:39, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I'd suggest only creating pages where you have enough sources in English to make something more than a few sentences in length (though at the very least the Japanese Wikipedia versions of these articles should have information unmangled enough through google translate to be usable). By their nature, single/album articles are subordinate to the articles of the musicians who sung them (as opposed to articles on, say, chemicals or beetles), meaning that such a short article is simply a WP:CONTENTFORK. If you need help on anything, feel free to ask! --Prosperosity (talk) 11:59, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you've contributed greatly to the world's tallest building page. I think someone has made a mistake to it, and I'm not sure how to properly correct it, since it has some heavy formatting. Thanks Cattus for taking an interest in women writers. I was wondering if it would not be a good idea to have a template covering all the major countries in the world for them, along the lines of

? I think that would be preferable to having lists on a continent-by-continent basis. Over Women's History Month I hope to cover most of the major countries apart from the United States and Britain (which others have been pushing for years!).--Ipigott (talk) 20:40, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well it wouldn't actually be all the countries in the world, just the 60 or so where there are enough women writers to make listing worthwhile. I'll get around to it later in the month when most countries have been covered. But that's not to say templates for Europe, North America, South America, etc., would not be useful too.--Ipigott (talk) 12:07, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks but I think something along the lines of Lists of writers by nationality would be fine for about 60 countries covered by the lists. But I'll wait a while before I put it together. I don't want to have to edit it every day. In any case, I'm thinking mainly of countries with European or Arabic languages. I don't feel capable of handling Asian languages at this stage although others may come along and help.--Ipigott (talk) 14:39, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Cattus: I see we're up to over 50 countries with the women writers lists now. Maybe you could put a template together for them which could be adapted to cope with further additions. Otherwise I could just try to put something together myself -- but you're the expert so I'm sure you could do a much better job.--Ipigott (talk) 16:03, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Sakiko Matsui

[edit]

The article Sakiko Matsui has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No notable singles work independent of the AKB48 group. Did her album even chart? Outside of "Chance no Junban" she did not place in the title track for any of the singles.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello User:Cattus sorry for disturbing you. The reason I am writing you is we all love Wikipedia and we want it expanding. However there is a discussion going on to delete a notable game article because of biased opinions. I saw that you edited this article: Vampire_Holmes and let it stay for further expansion, update and keep growing Wikipedia. But I am also totally agree with you to let articles stay for improvements and expand Wikipedia. So I believe you are a neutral, professional, objective and who believes in expanding Wikipedia not shrinking it type of person. So I would like you to check out this discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/MonsterMMORPG_(2nd_nomination) and make your comment based on references it has. References are here Talk:MonsterMMORPG. Please feel free to delete my message to you after you read it. Thank you very much have a nice day.176.233.41.152 (talk) 14:27, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bots

[edit]

You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.

What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.

This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.

Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. ‎Requesting guidance

[edit]

Greeetings

It seems you have been working on culture related some articles too. I am requesting your kind guidance for change of name of one article. When I started working on a new article recently, presently named Poles in mythology actual article name was some thing different, actually due to some misunderstandings some one changed name of the article to Poles in mythology. Matter of the fact is I wanted to cover cultural aspects and festive celebrations as an umbrella article and wanted to have historical mythological, worships wherever concerned as a small part of the main article.

Poles in mythology is altogether a different subject when I am doing research and writing cultural aspects of festive celebrations are also coming up simultaneously and I am coming to a conclusion that for covering cultural aspects of festive celebrations of 'pole' we need to have a separate umbrella article altogether so we will not have more confusions and misunderstandings. Either we need to change present article name or split and create a new cultural aspect related article.

Please let me know your openion and if you are positive to my suggessions what should be the new articles name ? In fact you can join in discussion at Talk:Poles_in_mythology#Change_of_article_name

Looking forward to your kind guidance

Thanks and warm regards

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mina Ōba requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of List of fantasy comics

[edit]

The article List of fantasy comics has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Too broad of a scope to maintain. With very many comics containing fantasy elements, this list can't ever be even half complete, and neither is it helpful because "fantasy" encompasses so very much. A category is more useful here, but a series of more narrowly scoped lists would be better, see the subgenres at fantasy.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Hello ! Do you know where the wiki page I had created and written about the Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets film has gone ? The Mermaid's language

[edit]

Hi, Cattus. Thljcl has been adding Cantonese to The Mermaid citing Youtube trailers [1] . Can you please come to the Talk:The Mermaid (2016 film) and gave your input?--Getareu8 (talk) 08:12, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cattus, honestly I'm quite baffled by Thljcl's discussion on Talk:The Mermaid (2016 film). The user is arguing for putting Cantonese in the infobox, but Thljcl actually stated on the talk page that "It's the fact that most actors and actresses in the film cannot speak Cantonese or even understand Cantonese very well" and then he/she even said "most actors and actresses spoke mandarin". And then the user said "My point here is that the "original language" is not the language spoken by the actors". The discussion is getting very convoluted and even off-topic. What we are talking about here is not a rocket science question, but a very simple one; basically what language were the people on the screen speaking?--Getareu8 (talk) 05:31, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Thljcl's claim of "The creators wrote the movie using Cantonese" on the Talk:The Mermaid (2016 film) needs verifiable and reputable references (or if we can see the film's screenplay). Otherwise, it is that user's personal speculation.--Getareu8 (talk) 06:51, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Getareu8: I'm not really sure what else to say about this. I agree with you, as I think my comment on Talk:The Mermaid (2016 film) made clear; I think what Thljcl is proposing is against the rules of the template/of how to define the language of a film. I asked for further input over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film and Template talk:Infobox film, but it seems no one else is interested in this dispute.--Cattus talk 07:32, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
